And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Reid!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Franklyn Lucas and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reid is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.


It looks like Jeff Forbes has been cut.
Forbes jabs Reid to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Reid tries to keep at a distance but Forbes has taken the fight into the clinch.

Forbes breaks from the clinch.
Reid fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Reid shoots in and gets a takedown into Forbes's guard.
Reid looks winded!
Forbes wants to stand and escape but Reid is having none of it.
Forbes has control of Reid's left arm, preventing Reid from doing any damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Reid postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Forbes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Reid gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Reid got a little sloppy there for a moment and Forbes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Reid has managed to get both his arms back between Forbes's legs - danger averted.

Forbes is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Reid is aware though and is defending well.

Reid stands up and waves to Forbes to follow him.

Reid closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Forbes makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Reid lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Forbes circles away quickly and effectively.
Reid is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Forbes has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Reid has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

That was a close round but I would say that Jeff Forbes will probably get the nod.

Forbes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Reid doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Reid manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
