Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Donald Trumpet (ranked 2389 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Barter (ranked 3670 p4p, 0 weight class). Trumpet's entrance music is For Heavy Metal we will die!. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barter tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Barter is trying hard to land a takedown here. Trumpet sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Trumpet connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Barter feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Trumpets jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Trumpet moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Nice jab there from Trumpet.
Barter checks a low kick from Trumpet.
Barter lands a head kick. Trumpet smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Barter throws a sloppy head kick and Trumpet moves out of range easily.
Trumpet works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Barter shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Trumpet as he jumps to the side.
Barter misses with a few strikes there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Trumpet fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Barter is out of range.
Barter steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Trumpet avoids the head kick by Barter .
Trumpet lands with a nice body punch.
Trumpet connects with a single shot there.
A telegraphed right hand from Barter misses the target.
Barter closes the distance but Trumpet moves to the side
and Trumpet counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Trumpet throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Barter .

That's one minute gone in the round.

Trumpet tries to sprawl but Barter drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Barter wants to control but Trumpet is keeping him busy.
Barter not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Trumpet slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Trumpet keeping moving, preventing Barter from controlling successfully.
Trumpet is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Trumpet seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Barter is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Donald Trumpet!
After the fight, Donald Trumpet was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Richard Barter was interviewed post fight and said 'I will do better next time'.
