Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Killua Zoldyk (ranked 1419 p4p, 158 weight class) and Landon Cannon (ranked 24652 p4p, 561 weight class). Killua Zoldyk has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; Killua Zoldyk! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; Landon Cannon! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Zoldyk fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cannon sprawls well initially but Zoldyk persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Zoldyk (2) vs (0) Cannon Zoldyk is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zoldyk's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Zoldyk seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Cannon for as long as he can get away with. Zoldyk is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Zoldyk seems to be working for a kimura but Cannon defends the submission attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cannon looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Zoldyk controlling from mount. Further stalling from Zoldyk. Cannon keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zoldyk sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Zoldyk is stinking the place up with his stalling. Cannon is wriggling around trying to escape.
Zoldyk controlling the position easily from mount. Zoldyk working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Cannon turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Zoldyk off and cradles Cannon's limp body as Zoldyk celebrates with his corner.
