Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Maeda (ranked 709 p4p, 91 weight class) and Joao Silvera (ranked 2996 p4p, 338 weight class). Maeda kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Submission. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Crunch! Silvera slams his shin into Maeda's torso.
Maeda has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Silvera.
Silvera smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Maeda takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Silvera lands with a nice body kick.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Silvera. Maeda shrugs it off though.
A decent looking cross lands there for Silvera.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Maeda crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Silvera - the referee stops the clock and Maeda gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Silvera. Maeda manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Silvera stuns Maeda with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Maeda takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Maeda will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.

Silvera cracks Maeda with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Maeda looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Silvera finish him?

Silvera closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Oh Maeda is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Maeda takes a shot to the head.
Silvera lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Silvera breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Maeda tries to clinch but Silvera moves away
and Silvera counters with a stiff right hand.
Silvera throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
