Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Gatsby (ranked 3954 p4p, 432 weight class) and Felix Chase (ranked 6774 p4p, 564 weight class). Gatsby comes to the cage accompanied by XX - Together. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Gatsby! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Felix Chase ! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Phil Schofield and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chase shoots in and drives through. Gatsby sprawls well. Chase doesn't succeed with the takedown and Gatsby counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Gatsby looks to land a combination but Chase avoids it well. Chase misses the body punch and Gatsby counters with a left and a right that stings Chase . Gatsby slaps away a takedown attempt from Chase , before circling back to the center of the mat. Jay Gatsby has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Felix Chase . Chase misses with a leg kick and Gatsby counters with a nice uppercut. Chase wants to clinch and Gatsby counters with a left to the body. Chase takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Chase throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Chase darts in and clinches Gatsby up against the cage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gatsby wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Chase has him pressed against the cage. I was talking to Gatsby's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Chase jumps guard but Gatsby stands there with Chase around his waist. Chase gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Chase looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chase is trying to pull guard but Gatsby has him pressed against the cage. Gatsby lands a body shot in the clinch.
Chase is looking for a takedown. Chase manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Chase jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gatsby walks away with a smile on his face. Chase gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Gatsby lands a jab-cross combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chase instigates a clinch. Gatsby breaks the clinch.
Gatsby catches Chase with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Chase darts in trying to clinch and Gatsby counters with a nice body shot. Chase tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gatsby defends well and Chase ends up having to push Gatsby into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Gatsby throws a nice looking combination but Chase bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Gatsby lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Chase is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Chase closes the distance but Gatsby moves to the side and Gatsby counters with a lovely shot to the body. Gatsby throws a right and a left that both miss. Chase shoots in but Gatsby avoids the takedown attempt easily. Gatsby appears to be looking for a big counter. Chase looks for a takedown but Gatsby sprawls well. Chase looks winded!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chase shoots and misses and Gatsby connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Chase is still on wobbly legs! Can Gatsby finish him? Gatsby drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Chase right on the button. Chase goes down! Gatsby follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Gatsby gets the win via TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jay Gatsby! Jay Gatsby decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
