Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jeff Warren! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Andre Bernadesci! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Winston Alpacca and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Warren pushes Bernadesci up against the cage in a clinch. Bernadesci is working for takedown but Warren is calmly controlling the position for now. A bit of stalling here from Warren.
Warren tightens his grip and picks Bernadesci up, before dumping him to the ground. Bernadesci manages to land in guard. Warren has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Warren with a flurry of punches that miss. Warren loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Bernadesci is adopting a defensive guard. Warren postures up in Bernadesci's guard and throws a big left but Bernadesci blocks it. Bernadesci pulls Warren in to control the position. Warren throwing strikes but missing. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bernadesci holds on and takes a little breather. Warren is looking to work some ground and pound but Bernadesci has wrist control. Warren missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Warren with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bernadesci lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Warren escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bernadesci gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Bernadesci got a little sloppy there for a moment and Warren has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bernadesci has managed to get both his arms back between Warren's legs - danger averted. Bernadesci pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Warren is keeping the position for now. Warren can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bernadesci controls the pace. Warren working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bernadesci doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bernadesci manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Warren being controlled here, momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Warren on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Warren tries to get out of the position. Warren is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Bernadesci seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Warren has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bernadesci can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Bernadesci pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Warren is keeping the position for now. Warren looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Bernadesci fails with an attempt to clinch.
Warren scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
It looks like Andre Bernadesci has been cut. Warren moves into the clinch. Bernadesci tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Warren smiles and moves away.
Bernadesci looks winded! Warren getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bernadesci moves in looking to clinch but Warren pushes him off. Warren with a jab. Bernadesci throws a nice looking combination but Warren bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Warren drops Bernadesci with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Bernadesci! Warren dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jeff Warren! Jeff Warren decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
