5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricky Rawse! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Daniel Brand! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brand throws a shot from downtown. Rawse moves away and avoids it. Nice defenses there by Brand. Rawse showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Brand.
Brand misses with a right hand and Rawse counters with a nice uppercut. Rawse clinches with his opponent.
Brand tries to break free but Rawse pushes him back against the cage. Rawse cracks Brand with a nice body shot. Brand takes a shot to the head. Brand is trying to force a seperation but Rawse has the dominant position. Rawse lands with a short shot to the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brand wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Rawse lands with a short head shot on the inside. Brand is looking to break free of the clinch but Rawse has double underhooks. Rawse taking a breather. Brand pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rawse throws a body shot but no joy. Brand throws a big shot that misses. Rawse misses with an uppercut. Brand avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Rawse works the jab nicely. Brand slips under a jab. Rawse walks into a jab. Brand stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Brand fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rawse looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Rawse jabs Brand to the body, keeping him at a distance. Rawse fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Daniel Brand seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rawse misses with a shot to the body and Brand counters with a three punch combo that has Rawse backing up. Rawse nods at Brand to acknowledge the strikes. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Brand connects with a body shot. Brand swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Rawse.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rawse ducks under a wild hook from Brand. An attempted straight right counter from Rawse misses the target. Rawse cracks Brand with a good jab. A combination from Brand does no damage. Rawse misses with a combination
and Brand counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Rawse rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Brand counters with a beautiful punch that sends Rawse to the canvas! Brand has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rawse is proving hard to escape from. Brand won't allow Rawse to sweep him here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rawse has a closed guard, preventing Brand from standing up. Brand is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Rawse manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Brand manages to get himself to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rawse postures up and lands a big shot to Brand's brow. Rawse is looking to work some ground and pound but Brand has wrist control. Rawse stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brand swivels though and keeps the full guard. Brand manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Rawse fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rawse throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Brand throws a shot to the body.

Brand throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Rawse swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Rawse with a body punch. A glancing blow. Brand throws a combination that misses and Rawse counters with a lovely straight right hand! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Brand scores with a nice head shot. Rawse thows a left - swing and a miss! A telegraphed right hand from Rawse misses the target.

Rawse's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Rawse duly obliges. Brand misses with a left hand and Rawse counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A slow jab from Brand misses its intended target. Rawse throws an off balance right hand
and Brand counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Rawse throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Brand sees it coming and avoids it easily. Brand throws a jab when Rawse was well out of range. Brand jabbing away but nothing is landing. Nice straight punches there by Rawse. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Rawse. Brand misses with a hook. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Brand gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Brand swings for the body but Rawse moves out of range.

A close round but Daniel Brand will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Brand has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rawse finds it's way round the side to connect with Brand's head. Brand looks to land a left hand but Rawse moved out of range nicely. Brand misses with a straight left. Rawse closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Brand circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Brand uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rawse. Rawse punishes Brand's body with a nice straight punch. Rawse throws out a loose jab but Brand uses good head movement to avoid it. Rawse displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Brand throws out the jab. A counter left hand to the body from Rawse misses its target. Rawse swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rawse misses the jab. Brand tests Rawse's chin there with a solid looking shot. Ricky Rawse is winning the standup battle so far. Rawse throws a series of strikes that have Brand backpedaling.
Brand throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rawse sees it coming and avoids it easily. Rawse takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Rawse swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Brand might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Brand scores with a jab to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A swing and a miss from Rawse. Brand is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Rawse with a body shot. Brand slips a straight right by Rawse. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rawse misses with a straight left. Brand rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rawse moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Rawse is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Brand. Rawse feints a jab promting Brand to slip. Rawse then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Brand slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Brand lands a glancing blow to the side of Rawse's head. Brand moves out of range as Rawse strikes. Rawse throws a body punch but Brand moves out of range. Rawse throws a series of punches but Brand avoids them all with ease. Brand throws a right and a left that both miss. Brand with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rawse to score with a decent uppercut. Brand takes one to the side of the head.

Rawse feints a jab promting Brand to slip. Rawse then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Brand slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Brand uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rawse.

Rawse is rocked! Rawse is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Westside Martial Arts, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Brand decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rawse to his feet. Oh Rawse is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Rawse connects with a single shot there. Brand throws a jab but it's blocked by Rawse. Rawse swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Rawse seems to have got his legs back now. Brand misses with a right hand and Rawse counters with a straight right hand. Brand swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Brand throws a lazy right hand but Rawse sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Brand on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Brand scores with a shot to the body.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ricky Rawse. I think Rawse has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
