Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frank Kir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adrian Kochanowicz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Kir has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Kir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Adrian Kochanowicz!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Alyssa Summers and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kir looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Kochanowicz closes the distance and pushes Kir back into the cage.

Kir pulls guard.
Kir has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Kochanowicz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kir swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kir wants to sweep here but Kochanowicz controlling him for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kir is trying to control the position but Kochanowicz postures up.
Kochanowicz wants to control from the top but Kir keeps moving.
Kochanowicz's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Nice sprawl there from Kir as Kochanowicz shoots in.

Kochanowicz closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.
Kochanowicz wants to control but Kir is keeping him busy.

Kochanowicz is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kir is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Kir is trying to get back to half guard.
Kir is working hard here to advance position.

Kir tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kochanowicz lands an elbow.

Kochanowicz trying to control the position but Kir is working away.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Kir scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kochanowicz to see if he's OK.
Kir remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Kochanowicz is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Kir has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Kir knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kochanowicz on the ground.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kir connects with a body shot.

Kir looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Kir wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kochanowicz keeps working.
Kir takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kir winds up and cracks Kochanowicz with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Kir is working for a submission of some sort.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Kir scores with the left hand. Kochanowicz knows he should have avoided that one.
Kir tries to clinch up.
Kir changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kochanowicz tries to avoid it but Kir manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kochanowicz to the ground. Kochanowicz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Kochanowicz stands up from Kir's guard - Kochanowicz perhaps looking for a knockout.

Kir shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kochanowicz's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kochanowicz has momentary wrist control but Kir slips an elbow through the middle.
Kir has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

and Kir counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Frank Kir has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adrian Kochanowicz.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!


Kochanowicz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Kir counters by clinching up.

Kir gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Kochanowicz regains guard.
Kir wants to get up but he can't break Kochanowicz's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Kir content to control rather than advance.
Kir is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Kochanowicz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kir wants to pass the guard but Kochanowicz is defending well.

Frank Kir is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Kir shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Kir is taking a breather. Kochanowicz says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Kir looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Kir is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Kir is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Kir seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kochanowicz for as long as he can get away with.

Kochanowicz is looking for a sweep. Kir is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Kir tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kochanowicz knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Kochanowicz scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Kir manages to mount him!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Frank Kir showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Kir has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
