Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Cook!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dom Cruz!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cook cracks Cruz with a right hand to the side of the head.
Cruz scores with a jab to the body.
Cook takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cruz is defended easily by Cook.
Cruz ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Cruz ducks under a wild hook from Cook.
Cook takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Dom Cruz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The crowd cheers as Cook lands an impressive looking overhand right. Cruz doesn't seem phased though.
Cruz fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cook looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Cruz shoots in for a takedown but Cook shows good takedown defense.

Cook lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The fighters circling - Cook throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Cruz bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Cook's head backwards.
Cook ducks right into an uppercut from Cruz.
A bone on bone clash there as Cook blocks the leg kick.

Cruz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Cruz throws a nice looking combination but Cook bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A quick step to the side and Cook tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Cruz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Cruz is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cook knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Dom Cruz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cruz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Dom Cruz really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Urban Fighter logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
