The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Leonard has Godoy up against the cage in a clinch.
Leonard swings wildly with an uppercut but Godoy uses good head movement to avoid it.
Godoy gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Leonard.

Godoy pulls Leonard into guard.
Godoy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Leonard holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Godoy tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leonard moves into full guard.
Leonard avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Leonard looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Godoy wants to control from the top but Leonard keeps moving.
Leonard is controlling Godoy's posture.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Godoy won't allow Leonard to sweep him here.
Leonard bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Godoy's guard.

Leonard is stalling in the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Godoy keeping moving, preventing Leonard from controlling successfully.
Godoy wants to improve his position but instead Leonard has moved into half guard.

Godoy makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Godoy.

Leonard is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Leonard wants to control from the top but Godoy keeps moving.
Leonard throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Godoy works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Leonard drops back looking for a leg! Godoy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Godoy manages to kick Leonard off! Leonard jumps back into Godoy's guard.
Godoy is looking to stand up but Leonard isn't so interested in that idea.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Leonard content to stall in guard here.
Leonard forces his way into half guard.
Godoy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Leonard on the ground.
Godoy is in trouble now - Leonard has advanced to mount!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Leonard content just to control the position here.

Godoy closes the distance and pushes Leonard back into the cage.

Godoy has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Leonard has passed into side control.
Leonard passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Godoy!

Leonard working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Godoy looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Leonard! Submission of the night perhaps?
