Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Omer Rutledge (ranked 6400 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Raju (ranked 5764 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Omer Rutledge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, King Raju!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Raju moves into the clinch.
Rutledge really is a fat lump.
Rutledge is looking for a takedown.
Rutledge changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Raju fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Rutledge fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Raju avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Omer Rutledge. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Raju moves into the clinch successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Raju decides to pull guard.
Raju wants to sweep but no luck.
Rutledge working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Rutledge won't allow Raju to sweep him here.
Raju is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Raju closes the distance and clinches.
Raju is pressed up against the cage. Rutledge has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Raju down to the mat. Raju avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Raju shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rutledge shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Raju is pressed up against the cage. Rutledge has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Raju down to the mat. Raju avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rutledge closes the distance and clinches up with Raju, looking for a takedown. Rutledge pushes Raju against the cage but Raju circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A slapping body kick lands there for Raju.

Raju closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Rutledge tries for a takedown. No joy.

Raju escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Raju shoots in but Rutledge avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rutledge is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Raju.
Raju looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Rutledge darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Rutledge not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Raju wants to control but Rutledge is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Rutledge is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rutledge working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

King Raju dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Rutledge tries to keep at a distance but Raju has taken the fight into the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Raju's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Raju throws an elbow but it misses.
Rutledge wants a takedown.

Rutledge breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Rutledge enables Raju to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rutledge manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Rutledge is wriggling around but Raju manages to pass to half guard.

Raju lands strikes from half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Raju stands up and beckons Rutledge to join him on the feet.

Raju looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Rutledge actively working from the bottom here.
Rutledge tries to get to full guard but Raju has control of the leg.

Raju stands up from half guard.
Sloppy strikes from Raju. Those never looked like landing.
Rutledge tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Raju manages to circle out of the way.
Raju throws a head kick that misses.
A jab from Raju does it's job there.
Raju shoots in looking for a takedown but Rutledge manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Raju's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Raju is breathing heavily.
Raju throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rutledge's waist but Rutledge gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Raju off to one side.
Rutledge wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Raju moves into the clinch.

Raju is fighting off a takedown attempt but Rutledge is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Raju to the mat. Raju regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Rutledge got a little sloppy there for a moment and Raju has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rutledge has managed to get both his arms back between Raju's legs - danger averted.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rutledge lands a couple of digs.
Rutledge is fighting to break Raju's control of his arms but Raju is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rutledge throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Raju throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Raju doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Raju working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rutledge doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rutledge manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Rutledge makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Rutledge distracts Raju with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Rutledge lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Rutledge is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Raju is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Omer Rutledge overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Rutledge looking for a triangle here. Raju is fighting it but it looks tight! Rutledge pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Raju is tapping out - this one is all over!
