Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tony Vazzappo (ranked 4460 p4p, 482 weight class) and Lee Sin (ranked 2713 p4p, 339 weight class). Lee Sin has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Tony Vazzappo's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Vazzappo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lee Sin!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sin darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Jab by Sin.
We've been told by Vazzappo's head coaches at The Forge that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Vazzappo throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
No joy there for Vazzappo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sin drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Vazzappo defends it well.
Vazzappo shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Sin eats them both and turns towards Vazzappo to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

and Sin counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sin throwing shots but Vazzappo is blocking nicely.
Sin is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Sin is keen to just control but Vazzappo is a slippery customer.

Vazzappo is staying active underneath Sin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Sin is looking for a kimura but Vazzappo is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sin to get the leverage.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sin connects with a nice short shot to Vazzappo's temple.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Sin is keen to just control but Vazzappo is a slippery customer.

Sin takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Sin in particular looking to stall.

Sin is nestled in close to Vazzappo, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Vazzappo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Vazzappo tries to get out of the position.

Sin loads up on a big right hand but Vazzappo slips the punch.

Vazzappo gets caught napping as Sin dives in and scores a takedown. Vazzappo manages to retain guard.

Vazzappo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Vazzappo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sin controls the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Vazzappo's head.

Sin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Sin drops back looking for a leg! Vazzappo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Vazzappo manages to kick Sin off! Sin jumps back into Vazzappo's guard.
Lee Sin has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sin chips away with some ground and pound.

Sin throws a strike but Vazzappo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Sin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vazzappo's guard.

Sin throws a big elbow that misses.
Sin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Vazzappo controls Sin momentarily but Sin frees himself.

Sin stands up over Vazzappo, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Sin wants to control from the top but Vazzappo keeps moving.

Sin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Sin is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lee Sin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Sin drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Vazzappo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Vazzappo kicks Sin off and gets to his feet.
Vazzappo throws a sloppy head kick

and Sin counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Vazzappo!
Sin controls the position from side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Vazzappo is rocked!
Sin lands a strong strike to the head of Vazzappo. That's dazed him! Sin looking to finish here. Vazzappo is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Sin lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lee Sin!
Lee Sin bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
