Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Santiago Costa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake The Dog!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Dog lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Santiago Costa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The Dog jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Costa throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Costa takes one to the side of the head.
The Dog has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Costa is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Costa wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

We've been hearing good reports from Costa's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The Dog tries to roll over but Costa keeps him under control.

Costa is trying to control the action in half guard but The Dog is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Costa is stalling here. The Dog is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Costa seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and The Dog has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The Dog lands a nice hook to Costa's body. Costa takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Oh Costa is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Jake The Dog seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Jake The Dog spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
