Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Barnkvist (ranked 1153 p4p, 158 weight class) and Dean Corll (ranked 2074 p4p, 264 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Corll's choice of entrance music: Candyman. Dean Corll has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 16 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Peter Barnkvist! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
26 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dean Corll! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barnkvist tries to clinch there but Corll circles away.
Barnkvist chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Corll can pounce on him.
Corll has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Corll scores with a body shot.
Corll lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Barnkvist at a distance.
Barnkvist tries to clinch but Corll is having none of it. Corll loads up on a big right hand but Barnkvist slips the punch. Corll connects with a solid leg kick. Corll connects with a body shot that sends Barnkvist's belly button to the back. Barnkvist closes the distance and pushes Corll back into the cage. Corll prevents a takedown attempt there.
Corll lands with a left to the head. Corll breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Barnkvist closes the distance looking to clinch and Corll counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Corll moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Corll throws a front kick aimed at Barnkvist's knee but Barnkvist avoids it well. Barnkvist gets cracked there but stands up to it.
It looks like Peter Barnkvist has been cut. We've been hearing reports that Barnkvist has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Corll keeps the fight on the outside. Corll looks like he wants to counter punch here. Nice cross by Barnkvist. Barnkvist misses with a body shot.
Barnkvist shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Corll as he avoids it easily. Barnkvist closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Corll did well to prevent Barnkvist getting side control. Corll tries to get to full guard but Barnkvist has control of the leg. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barnkvist not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Barnkvist working over Corll with some ground and pound. Corll looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Corll is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barnkvist lands strikes from half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Corll is trying to maintain the position but Barnkvist is very close to passing his half guard. Barnkvist looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Corll looking for submissions off his back. Corll wants to control but Barnkvist is keeping busy and won't allow it. Barnkvist is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Corll tries to roll over but Barnkvist keeps him under control. Barnkvist lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Corll is looking to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Corll is still trying to improve position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Barnkvist connects with a nice short shot to Corll's temple. Corll has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Barnkvist. Oh but Corll has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Barnkvist goes limp - he's gone! Corll jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Dean Corll! Dean Corll spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
