The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, jab by Jones - just one landing.
Jones explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Jones thuds his right hand into Santoro's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Santoro swings away with a body shot that misses
and Jones counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Santoro blocks a jab.
Santoro cracks Jones with an open hand slap.
Santoro looks to land a left hand but Jones moved out of range nicely.
Santoro backing away here, and Jones unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Santoro closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
A telegraphed right hand from Jones misses the target.
Santoro loads up on a big right hand but Jones slips the punch.
Santoro lands with a right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A right-left combo lands from Jones.
It looks like Nicky Santoro has been cut.
Jones misses with a hook to the body
and Jones takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Santoro, as that shot connected.
It looks like Billy Jones has been cut.
Jones connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Santoro! He's out on his feet! Jones rushes in and drops Santoro with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Billy Jones!
After winning the bout, Billy Jones thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
