PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Chokdee Siriwat (ranked 23882 p4p, 560 weight class) and Anders Silver (ranked 22618 p4p, 539 weight class). Siriwat comes into the arena with Vs The World blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chokdee Siriwat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anders Silver!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Siriwat wants to clinch but Silver slips to the side
letting Silver counter with a right hand.
Chokdee Siriwat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Siriwat throws a body kick that misses
and Silver counters with a straight right hand.
Siriwat checks a low kick from Silver.
Siriwat tries to clinch but Silver moves out of range.
Siriwat closes the distance but Silver moves to the side
and Silver counters with a slapping leg kick.
Siriwat throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Silver counters with a nice body kick.
Siriwat takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Siriwat lands with a nice body kick.
Siriwat throws a half hearted mid kick.
Silver throws a fast counter high kick but Siriwat manages to duck under it in time.
Silver throws a nice outside leg kick.
Siriwat falls off balance throwing a combination
and Silver counters with a stiff right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silver uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Siriwat swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Silver moves into the clinch.

Silver scores with a hook to the body.

Silver breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Siriwat throws a right and a left that both miss.
Silver now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Siriwat moves in looking to clinch but Silver pushes him off.
Silver throws a fast counter high kick but Siriwat manages to duck under it in time.
Siriwat is looking to clinch but Silver is avoiding it.
Siriwat scores with a kick to the body.
Siriwat throws a body kick that misses
and Silver counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Siriwat closes the distance looking to clinch
and Silver counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Siriwat fails with an attempt to clinch.
Good standup being displayed there by Silver as he connects with a hook.

Siriwat is rocked!

It looks like Chokdee Siriwat has been cut.
Siriwat tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Silver paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Silver flicks out a counter leg kick but Siriwat steps away.
Siriwat tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Silver counters with a big 3 punch combo that drops Siriwat on his ass! Siriwat wobbles back to his feet half way through the count and though looking a bit dazed, the referee is going to allow the fight to continue!
Oh Siriwat is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Siriwat gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Silver counters with a big uppercut that nearly lifts Siriwat off his feet! Siriwat crashes to the mat in all kinds of trouble! The referee starts the count but I'm not sure it's necessary - Siriwat isn't going to make it! The count reaches 10 and this fight is all over! Silver screams and throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmmm spit, everywhere. Lovely.
