Coming up we have a super heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Diego Alejandro Marrero (ranked 6679 p4p, 68 weight class) and Tom Tomson (ranked 3375 p4p, 37 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 3 losses; Diego Alejandro Marrero! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 2 losses; Tom Tomson! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Tomson stuffs the takedown attempt from Marrero. Marrero gets slowly back to his feet. Tomson steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Marrero. Marrero gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Tomson moves into the clinch. Marrero has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Tomson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diego Alejandro Marrero. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tomson has Marrero pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Marrero manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Marrero tries to pull guard but Tomson won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Marrero is taking a breather. Tomson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Marrero trying to mount his opponent but Tomson defends it. Marrero content to control rather than advance. Tomson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Marrero is keen to just control but Tomson is a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marrero takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Marrero wants to advance to full mount but Tomson doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Marrero trying to control but Tomson is working from the bottom. Tomson is pulling down on Marrero's head to control his posture. Marrero trying to control but Tomson is working from the bottom. Marrero looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marrero is really struggling to control Tomson but he's trying to hold on to the position. Marrero is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Tomson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Marrero stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tomson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Marrero wants to control from the top but Tomson keeps moving. Tomson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. That's five minutes gone in the round. Marrero wants to sweep but no luck. Tomson controlling from the top position. Tomson advances to half guard. Marrero wants to get back to full guard. Tomson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Marrero trying to control from the bottom.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Marrero tries to roll over but Tomson keeps him under control. Tomson trying to control the pace. Marrero is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Marrero is looking to control Tomson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Marrero avoid being mounted?

Marrero on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Marrero tries to get out of the position. Marrero wants to control but Tomson is keeping busy.
Marrero makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Marrero. Marrero wants to control the position but Tomson says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Marrero slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Tomson pushing down on Marrero's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Tomson in particular looking to stall. Tomson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Marrero knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Tomson is thwarting Marrero's attempts to control the position.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Tomson performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Marrero is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Tomson controlling the action here.
That's ten minutes gone in the round. Marrero is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Tomson is thwarting Marrero's attempts to control the position. Tomson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Marrero is looking for a sweep. Tomson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Marrero is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Marrero prevents any damage by holding on tight.
