Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rory Sandoval (ranked 24929 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Haugesunds (ranked 4783 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rory Sandoval! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Karl Haugesunds! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sandoval lands with a right hand. Haugesunds throws a sloppy head kick and Sandoval moves out of range easily. Sandoval is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Haugesunds. Sandoval throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Haugesunds stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Haugesunds drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sandoval is on top in guard.
Haugesunds looking for a sweep. Not yet Haugesunds, not yet. Haugesunds preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Sandoval postures up in Haugesunds's guard and throws a big left but Haugesunds blocks it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Haugesunds can do anything to dispel that myth. Haugesunds working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sandoval. Sandoval in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Haugesunds is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sandoval flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Haugesunds is taking a breather. Sandoval says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Sandoval has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Haugesunds is looking for a triangle but Sandoval pushes his legs off easily.

Sandoval postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Sandoval is looking to work some ground and pound but Haugesunds has wrist control. Haugesunds is looking to sweep but instead, Sandoval has passed into half guard.

Haugesunds closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sandoval's guard. Haugesunds must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Sandoval looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Haugesunds is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Sandoval manages to get to full guard. Sandoval is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Sandoval is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Sandoval throwing shots but Haugesunds is blocking nicely. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sandoval is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Haugesunds is holding on to half guard well. Sandoval will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rory Sandoval will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Haugesunds turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Haugesunds manages to end up in side control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Haugesunds throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sandoval was covering up waiting for the punch and Haugesunds finishes the takedown easily into guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Haugesunds's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Haugesunds stands and steps away. Sandoval gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Sandoval shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Haugesunds defends it nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Haugesunds throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Sandoval connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Haugesunds shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Haugesunds was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Haugesunds decides to stand back up. Haugesunds steps back and let's Sandoval get back to his feet. Sandoval gets caught flat footed, as Haugesunds shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sandoval is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Haugesunds postures up and lands a big shot to Sandoval's brow.
And that's the end of the fight! Karl Haugesunds comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Sandoval has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
