Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Kerr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dmitri Zaitsev!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Richard Clark and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zaitsev throws a lazy right hand but Kerr sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Zaitsev throws a lazy head kick
and Zaitsev takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kerr keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Zaitsev smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Kerr uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Zaitsev.
Zaitsev staying out of range there.
Kerr misses with an uppercut.
Zaitsev throws out a counter right but Kerr avoids it with no problem.
Zaitsev throws an off balance right hand
and Zaitsev takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kerr slips under a jab.
A little feinted left hand from Kerr on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zaitsev swings widly with a right hand
and Kerr counters with a straight right hand.
Kerr fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kerr looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Zaitsev lands a high kick!
Zaitsev dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nice defenses there by Kerr.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kerr scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Kerr takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A big right from Kerr misses.
Zaitsev looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Zaitsev swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kerr is looking to counter punch.
Zaitsev wants to land a leg kick but Kerr is out of range.
Kerr missing with a left hand there. Zaitsev was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A little jabbing left from Zaitsev on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Zaitsev scoring well with a low kick there.
Mark Kerr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kerr slips a straight right by Zaitsev.
Kerr changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
A big right from Zaitsev misses.
Kerr throws a big counter combination but Zaitsev scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Zaitsev tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Kerr is able to avoid easily.
Zaitsev avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Dmitri Zaitsev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zaitsev wants to slow Kerr down by chopping away at his legs.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Zaitsev shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kerr but Kerr pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Zaitsev defending well as Kerr loads up on a big left hand.
Kerr takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Zaitsev cracks Kerr with a right hand to the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Zaitsev showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kerr.
Zaitsev throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kerr counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Kerr lands a left and a right that sends Zaitsev crashing to the canvas! Kerr dives into mount looking to finish!
Kerr looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Zaitsev covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Kerr!
In his post fight interview, Mark Kerr started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
