Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Will Charles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Brexit! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brexit misses with a double jab
and Charles counters with a nice double leg into guard. Brexit wants to get back to his feet but Charles passes into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Charles not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Charles drops an elbow to the side of Brexit's head. Charles is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Brexit sees it coming and defends easily. Charles is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Charles wants to control but Brexit is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brexit looks like he's trying to stand up.
Brexit really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Charles. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Brexit is staying active underneath Charles, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Charles missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Charles working over Brexit with some ground and pound. Brexit looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Brexit blocking the ground and pound attempt from Charles. Charles has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Nice strikes from Charles there. Charles missing with the ground and pound from half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Charles connects with a nice short shot to Brexit's temple. Charles drops an elbow to the side of Brexit's head.
Brexit is rocked! Brexit looks winded! Charles content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Brexit is still in real trouble! Can Charles finish him? Charles scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Charles lands a big elbow - Brexit is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Charles!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Will Charles! A relieved looking Will Charles thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
