Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Emmet Morris (ranked 4726 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leo Wittles (ranked 24822 p4p, 0 weight class). Leo Wittles is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Emmet Morris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Leo Wittles!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jorge Garcia and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Morris is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Wittles pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Morris has Wittles pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Wittles manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Morris jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wittles walks away with a smile on his face. Morris gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Wittles has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Emmet Morris. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wittles cracks the inside of Morris's front leg.

Morris feints and as Wittles raises his hands in defense, Morris changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Morris drops back looking for a leg! Wittles is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wittles manages to kick Morris off! Morris jumps back into Wittles's guard.

Morris drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Morris jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Wittles swings for the body but Morris moves out of range.
Wittles throws a leg kick but Morris sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Wittles swats away the attempt to clinch by Morris.
Wittles keeps Morris at a distance using the push kick.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Wittles - that will leave a mark!
Wittles misses with a body kick.
Leo Wittles is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wittles circles away from the clinch attempt.

Morris scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Wittles has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Morris is on him like a limpet, forcing Wittles back against the cage.

Morris tries to clinch but Wittles moves out of range.
Wittles rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Morris moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Morris throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Wittles tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Morris is in Wittles's guard.
Wittles wants to stand up but Morris is controlling him.
Morris throws a big elbow that misses.
Wittles really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Morris. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Wittles wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Morris manages to pass to side control.

Morris with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Morris tries to pass to full mount but Wittles defends it.
Morris is taking a breather. Wittles says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Morris has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Leo Wittles will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Morris shoots in but Wittles avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Wittles fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Morris closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wittles circles away.
Wittles steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Morris blocks the body kick.

Morris closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wittles to the mat! Wittles manages to get full guard.
Emmet Morris overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Morris stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wittles swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Morris changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wittles tries to avoid it but Morris manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wittles to the ground. Wittles escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Leo Wittles showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Morris tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wittles sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Morris somewhat.
Morris throws out a loose jab but Wittles uses good head movement to avoid it.
Morris shoots in but no luck this time.

Morris goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Wittles has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Morris but great work by Wittles.

Morris moves into the clinch.

Morris tightens his grip and picks Wittles up, before dumping him to the ground. Wittles manages to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wittles manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Morris takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Wittles breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

This is a sustained period of stalling by Morris.

Morris wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wittles, who protects the arm well.

Morris stands up and beckons Wittles to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Morris.
Morris shoots for a takedown but Wittles saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Wittles keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Wittles goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Morris tried to counter with a leg kick but Wittles avoided it.
Morris looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wittles is fending him off so far but Morris persists. Nope, Wittles circles away and we're back to standing.

Leo Wittles comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Wittles winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
