And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Florence Fergunson!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fergunson moves away from the strike by Wood.

Fergunson closes the distance and clinches.
Fergunson controlling the action here for a moment.
Wood being controlled against the cage.
Fergunson continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
Fergunson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Wood gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Wood breaks the clinch.
Fergunson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Wood cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fergunson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wood, pushing him back against the cage.
Fergunson lands with a light punch inside.
Wood is trying to break free.
Fergunson is pushing Wood up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Wood looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Wood wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Fergunson takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Wood is trying to break the clinch but Fergunson has him pressed against the cage.
Wood is trying to push Fergunson away but Fergunson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
A frustrated look appears on Wood's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Fergunson just leaning against Wood, taking a breather.
Fergunson manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
The crowd are getting on Fergunson's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
Wood tries to circle away but Fergunson has him pinned against the cage.
Fergunson wants a takedown but no success here.
Ben Wood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Florence Fergunson.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Wood has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Wood is trying to buck Fergunson off.
Wood is looking for a sweep.

Wood is looking to regain half guard here but Fergunson keeps moving and retains side control.
Wood is working hard here to advance position.
Fergunson scores with a couple of short elbows.

Wood is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Wood takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Fergunson tries to move to mount but Wood blocks the move with his legs.

Wood is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Fergunson has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Fergunson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wood keeps working.

Fergunson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Wood to see if he's OK.
Fergunson passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Wood!

Wood is looking to improve his position but Fergunson isn't that keen on the idea.
Fergunson cracks Wood with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Wood is desperately trying to improve his position but Fergunson has a good base and remains in mount.

Wood is bucking up trying to escape but Fergunson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Wood is rocked!
Fergunson postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! Wood is out cold - huge knockout for Fergunson!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Florence Fergunson!
An out of breath Florence Fergunson thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
