Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sin Choo Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and KJ Hoodwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by We Came To Dance- Gaslight Anthem. Hoodwell is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Boom (How You Like That). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sin Choo Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, KJ Hoodwell!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jones clinches up against the cage.
Hoodwell can't get the takedown.
Hoodwell can't get the takedown.

Jones breaks from the clinch.
Hoodwell fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sin Choo Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of KJ Hoodwell.
Jones is looking to clinch but Hoodwell is avoiding it.
Hoodwell tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Hoodwell takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


It looks like KJ Hoodwell has been cut.

Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Hoodwell looks gassed!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jones thows a big elbow that misses.

Hoodwell has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though.
Jones trying to control but Hoodwell is working from the bottom.
Jones trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hoodwell's guard.

Jones gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Hoodwell shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jones as he avoids it easily.

Jones darts in and clinches Hoodwell up against the cage.

Jones breaks from the clinch.
Jones lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Jones throws a left that rocks Hoodwell and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Jones dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Hoodwell regain composure!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones decides to stand back up. Jones steps back and let's Hoodwell get back to his feet.

Jones has managed to clinch.
Jones is struggling to control the position.
Jones lands a shoulder strike.

Jones breaks the clinch.
Jones throws a good cross that connects.

Hoodwell tries to keep at a distance but Jones has taken the fight into the clinch.

Jones breaks from the clinch.

Jones moves into the clinch.
Hoodwell goes for a takedown in the clinch but Jones prevents it.

Jones has clasped his hands together around Hoodwell's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Hoodwell tries to buck Jones off but Jones is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hoodwell stops Jones from passing to mount.
Hoodwell is trying to improve his position.
Hoodwell is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jones off and has taken his back!

Hoodwell has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Jones has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Hoodwell is trying to stick to Jones's back but Jones is turning into Hoodwell. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Hoodwell's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Jones.

Hoodwell working for submissions but it's allowed Jones to get to half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hoodwell tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Hoodwell looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Jones decides to return to a standing position.
Hoodwell swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Jones counters with a three punch combo that has Hoodwell backing up. Hoodwell nods at Jones to acknowledge the strikes.
Jones scores with a jab to the head.

Jones has Hoodwell up against the cage in a clinch.
Hoodwell is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jones pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Hoodwell is trying to drag Jones to the mat but Jones just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Jones is trying to break the clinch but Hoodwell has him pressed against the cage.
Jones prevents the takedown attempt.
Hoodwell has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jones is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Jones breaks the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hoodwell fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jones circles away from the clinch attempt

and Jones moves into the clinch.

Jones manages to break the clinch.
Jones throws a series of strikes that have Hoodwell backpedaling.
Hoodwell doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Jones counters with a nice low kick that buckles Hoodwell's knee momentarily.
Jones moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Hoodwell closes the distance looking to clinch
and Jones counters with a nice uppercut.
Hoodwell will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hoodwell shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Jones counters by clinching up.
Hoodwell changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jones fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Hoodwell feints and as Jones raises his hands in defense, Hoodwell changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sin Choo Jones dominated that round.
The cut man is working on KJ Hoodwell's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!


Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Hoodwell circles away.
Hoodwell tries to clinch there but Jones circles away.
Jones is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hoodwell can do to turn this around?
Jones with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jones.
KJ Hoodwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jones closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hoodwell tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jones just stands there and leans against the cage.

Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jones changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Jones closes the distance and clinches.
Jones digs a right hand underneath Hoodwell's ribcage. Hoodwell let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Hoodwell lands a takedown into guard.

Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hoodwell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hoodwell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hoodwell is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jones is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jones has escaped and now he's on top!

Hoodwell is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hoodwell moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Jones wanted to stand there but Hoodwell had control of the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hoodwell looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Jones looking to pass the guard.

Hoodwell is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Jones rolls with it to try and escape but Hoodwell cranks on the arm and Jones is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
