Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Guatar (ranked 22829 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamal Gazimagomedov (ranked 2924 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Guatar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jamal Gazimagomedov! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Guatar does no damage. Gazimagomedov closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Guatar slips a jab and a cross from Gazimagomedov.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gazimagomedov looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Gazimagomedov throws a hook but Guatar avoids it easily. Guatar scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Guatar. Gazimagomedov shrugs it off though. Gazimagomedov misses with a wild combination.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Guatar circles away from the clinch attempt.

and Guatar counters with a left to the body. Jamal Gazimagomedov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Guatar connects with a body shot. Gazimagomedov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Guatar manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Guatar appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Guatar lands an overhand right. Gazimagomedov moves to clinch but Guatar breaks away and Guatar counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gazimagomedov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Guatar swats him away and circles back towards the center. Guatar gets the takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Guatar moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Guatar working the body and head with strikes. Guatar remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Gazimagomedov tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Guatar presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Guatar prevents Gazimagomedov from getting the reversal.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Guatar postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Gazimagomedov looks a forlorn figure.
Guatar content just to control the position here. Guatar has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. This is a sustained period of stalling by Guatar. Guatar seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gazimagomedov for as long as he can get away with. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Guatar cracks Gazimagomedov with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guatar takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Guatar continues to stall. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gazimagomedov keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Guatar tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guatar continues to hold on tight. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Guatar dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Gazimagomedov throws a right and a left that Guatar avoids nicely. Guatar appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Gazimagomedov misses with a few strikes there.
Gazimagomedov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Guatar moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Some wild striking there from Gazimagomedov.
A nice combination there by Guatar.
Guatar is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gazimagomedov can do to turn this around? Guatar lands a jab to the head.
Gazimagomedov is looking to clinch. Gazimagomedov throws a series of punches but Guatar avoids them all with ease. Gazimagomedov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Guatar manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Johnny Guatar is winning the standup battle so far. Gazimagomedov misses with a looping left. Guatar keeps the fight on the outside. Gazimagomedov wants to clinch. Guatar was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Guatar gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
It looks like Johnny Guatar has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guatar lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Good shot there by Guatar. Gazimagomedov takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Gazimagomedov takes a shot right to the bread basket. Guatar throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Gazimagomedov on the side of the head.
Gazimagomedov is rocked! Guatar cracks Gazimagomedov with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Gazimagomedov tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Guatar pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Gazimagomedov is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johnny Guatar!
