Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jhin Markell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lynn Steinheiser! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Markell feints and as Steinheiser raises his hands in defense, Markell changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Steinheiser avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Markell tries to free his leg and advance position but Steinheiser is retaining full guard. Markell trying to control but Steinheiser is working from the bottom. Markell showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Markell looking to pass the guard. Markell passes easily into side control. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Steinheiser stuck in half guard on the bottom here. Markell tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Markell has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Markell controlling the position from side mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. I wouldn't like to be where Steinheiser is right now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Steinheiser being controlled for a moment. Markell looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Steinheiser avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Markell.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Markell looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Steinheiser is avoiding damage well.
Markell controls the position from side control. Markell lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Markell tries to advance to mount but Steinheiser denies him. Steinheiser is trying to control Markell's posture but Markell avoids it. An elbow from Markell crashes against the mat.
Markell tries to move to mount but Steinheiser blocks the move with his legs. Steinheiser is looking to reverse the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steinheiser takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Steinheiser wants to control but Markell postures up. Markell definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Markell advances nicely into full mount. Steinheiser wants to control but Markell is having none of it. Steinheiser is wriggling around trying to escape.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Markell cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Markell pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Markell is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Steinheiser to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Steinheiser shrugs it off. Markell wants to control but instead Steinheiser manages to regain half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jhin Markell dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Steinheiser gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Markell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Steinheiser swivels though and keeps the full guard. Steinheiser keeping moving, preventing Markell from controlling successfully. Markell with a flurry of punches that miss. Steinheiser trying to control the position here. Steinheiser trying to keep a closed guard but Markell is proving a slippery customer.

Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Steinheiser pulls Markell in close to his closed guard and prevents Markell from doing any damage or advancing position. Markell is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Steinheiser can do to turn this around? Markell trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Jhin Markell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Markell in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Steinheiser has control of Markell's left arm, preventing Markell from doing any damage.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Steinheiser moves out of range of the strikes. Jhin Markell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Markell falls off balance throwing a combination
and Steinheiser decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Markell's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Markell avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Steinheiser with a flurry of punches that miss. Steinheiser throws a big elbow that misses. Steinheiser avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Markell lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Markell trying to control the position from guard on top but Steinheiser is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Markell passes Steinheiser's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Markell wants to take a breather but Steinheiser is having none of it. Markell is really struggling to control Steinheiser but he's trying to hold on to the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Markell looks to land a strike but Steinheiser avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Markell is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Markell trying to control the position from guard on top but Steinheiser is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Markell is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Markell's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Steinheiser working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Markell. Markell looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Markell advances position into side control!

The referee asks Markell politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Markell prefers to stall for the moment though. Markell working the ground and pound. Markell creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Markell trying to control the position but Steinheiser is working away. Steinheiser being controlled for a moment. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Markell works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Steinheiser shoots in for a double leg but Markell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Steinheiser uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Markell. Markell scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Markell trying to control the action but Steinheiser is working from the bottom. Steinheiser is looking to reverse the position. Markell trying to control the position but Steinheiser is working away. Markell cracks Steinheiser with a big right hand but Steinheiser just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Markell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Markell goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Steinheiser rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Markell's guard! Nice work there by Steinheiser! Markell utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Steinheiser throws a strike but Markell rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Markell scoring with some ground and pound.

Markell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Steinheiser swivels though and keeps the full guard. Steinheiser wants to sweep here but Markell controlling him for the moment. Steinheiser avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Markell thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Markell wants to control from the top but Steinheiser keeps moving. Steinheiser is adopting a defensive guard. Markell won't allow Steinheiser to sweep him here.

Steinheiser feints the counter takedown. A looping hook to the body misses from Markell. Steinheiser does a little dance to reset his feet. Steinheiser tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Lynn Steinheiser has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Markell loads up on a big right hand but Steinheiser slips the punch. Steinheiser is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Jhin Markell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Markell throws a looping overhand right but Steinheiser ducks down to avoid it. Steinheiser changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Steinheiser keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Markell. Markell stalks Steinheiser and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Steinheiser's face. Steinheiser staggers backwards, shaken.
And that's the end of the fight! Jhin Markell showed his dominance in that final round. Well Markell has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

An out of breath Jhin Markell thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career. Lynn Steinheiser spoke after the fight, saying 'I'm calling for a review of this fight! This faggot kept sticking his finger in my asshole!!! Who the hell can fight effectively while getting fingered in their asshole??? I did not like that at all ... though it felt good, but that is besides the point! A distraction is a DISTRACTION!!!
