Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alphonse Pate (ranked 6142 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yorgan De Romero (ranked 6351 p4p, 0 weight class). Alphonse Pate is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alphonse Pate! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yorgan De Romero! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pate looks to score with a jab to the body but Romero is just out of range. Romero misses with a head kick.
Romero looks to land a combination. Pate sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like Alphonse Pate has been cut. Romero dodges the punch combination from Pate.
Yorgan De Romero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Romero fails with a takedown attempt. Romero gets caught napping as Pate dives in and scores a takedown. Romero manages to retain guard. Romero wants to stand and escape but Pate is having none of it. Pate working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Romero controlling Pate's posture. Romero has momentary wrist control but Pate slips an elbow through the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romero keeping moving, preventing Pate from controlling successfully. Romero tries to land a sweep but no joy. Romero not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Pate has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Romero pushes Pate off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Romero throws a nice head kick!
Pate will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Pate misses with a combination
and Romero cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pate displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Romero. Romero avoids a punch combination nicely.
Romero misses with a takedown attempt - Pate sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. It looked like Pate was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Alphonse Pate has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yorgan De Romero. Romero lands a glancing blow to the side of Pate's head. Pate misses with a low kick as Romero jumps back. Romero fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Pate, pushing him back against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romero effectively controlling the action here. Pate stalling in the clinch.
Romero prevents the takedown attempt.
Pate tries for a takedown. No joy.
Romero pressing his opponent against the cage. Romero gets control of Pate's arms and successfully pulls guard. Romero will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Pate has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Romero is proving hard to escape from. Romero wants to sweep here but Pate controlling him for the moment. Romero wants to improve his position but instead Pate has moved into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pate missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Pate is trying to work for a kimura but Romero is defending well.
Pate is thwarting Romero's attempts to control the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Pate wants to stand but Romero has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yorgan De Romero dominated that round. The cut man is working on Alphonse Pate's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Pate misses with a series of wild punches.
Romero fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Pate, pushing him back against the cage. Pate tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Romero just stands there and leans against the cage. Romero breaks the clinch.
Pate rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Romero moves out of range and avoids them all easily. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Romero. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Romero scores with a body shot.
Nice takedown defense from Pate. No joy for Romero on that attempt. Romero shoots in but no luck this time. Alphonse Pate has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yorgan De Romero.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pate closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Romero to the mat! Romero manages to get full guard. Romero kicks Pate off and gets to his feet. Pate misses with a wild combination.
Romero scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Pate keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Romero is breathing heavily. Pate fails to land with a series of punches.
Romero closes the distance and clinches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Romero lands a nice elbow. Romero drags the fight down to the ground.
Romero is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Pate throws a strike but Romero rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Pate looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Romero passes into half guard.

Romero controlling from the top position. Romero decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Pate misses with a jab, cross combination.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Romero drives through with a takedown into Pate's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Pate wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Romero manages to pass to side control. Pate misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Romero is figuring out what he wants to do next. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yorgan De Romero showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Alphonse Pate's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
A combination from Pate does no damage. Romero drives through and clinches with Pate against the cage.
Romero has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Pate tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Romero breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pate dives in and scores a takedown into Romero's guard. Romero wriggles free and stands up. Pate is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Pate slaps away a takedown attempt from Romero, before circling back to the center of the mat. Romero shoots in looking for a takedown but Pate manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Romero's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Pate avoids the head kick by Romero.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romero gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Romero takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Romero goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pate prevents it.
Alphonse Pate has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yorgan De Romero. Pate jumps guard and drags Romero to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Pate escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Romero gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Romero gets to his feet. Pate looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Pate misses with a few strikes there.
Romero wants to counter the offense by Pate and move into the clinch position. Romero tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Pate defends well and Romero ends up having to push Pate into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Romero throws a right hand that Pate ducks under and follows up with a left that Pate also avoids with ease.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Romero throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Pate closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Pate is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Romero is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Romero is looking to regain half guard here but Pate keeps moving and retains side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pate gets to mount! Romero was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Pate jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Romero is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Romero and Pate has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romero looking for a sweep but Pate has passed into full mount! Oh no! Pate is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Romero has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Romero! Pate working for submissions but it's allowed Romero to get to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Romero is trying to work for a kimura but Pate is defending well.
Pate flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Pate looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Romero pushes past his half guard into mount! Romero takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Romero is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Pate is surviving well by controlling Romero's body position as best he can.
And that's the end of the fight! Yorgan De Romero comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Romero has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
