Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Donnie Duke (ranked 6147 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Smith (ranked 24988 p4p, 0 weight class). Don Smith has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Donnie Duke's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Donnie Duke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Don Smith! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith rushes Duke and presses him up against the cage. Duke gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Smith regains guard.
Smith pushes Duke off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Smith moves into the clinch. Duke tries to pull guard but Smith forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Duke fails to pull guard.
Smith has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Duke uses from the top position. Duke controlling from the top position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Smith throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Duke trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Smith is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Smith might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Duke haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duke sitting in guard here, content to control. Duke trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom. Duke wants to stand but Smith is controlling his posture from full guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Smith looking to score a takedown here. Duke is defending well but Smith drives through and ends up in Duke's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Duke working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith got a little sloppy there for a moment and Duke has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smith has managed to get both his arms back between Duke's legs - danger averted. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith wants to control from the top but Duke keeps moving. Smith controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Duke is adopting a defensive guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Smith decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Smith bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Duke tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Smith tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Duke swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Smith goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Duke is on top in guard.
Duke wants to stand but Smith has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Smith is trying to control the position but Duke postures up. Smith working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Duke doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Duke manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Don Smith dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Smith lands with a thumping leg kick.
Smith lands a big head kick that sends Duke tumbling to the mat! Smith takes a step backwards and waves Duke back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Donnie Duke has been cut. Duke gets tackled into the cage by Smith. Smith maintains the clinch. Knees to the body from Smith.
Duke jumps into guard, dragging Smith to the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Smith forces his way into half guard. Duke avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Smith. Smith is just content to waste time from the top position. Duke takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duke throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Smith throws a big right hand that misses. Smith throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Smith is pushing down on Duke's leg trying to pass to half guard. Duke is fighting to maintain full guard but Smith has managed to sneak the leg through. Duke is looking to escape. Smith escapes and gets back to his feet. Duke gets the takedown into side control. Smith struggling a bit here. Duke slows the pace down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith regains half guard. Smith flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Duke thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Smith's head. Smith on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Smith has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Smith is trying to maintain the position but Duke is very close to passing his half guard. Duke performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Smith trying to control here.
Smith is staying active underneath Duke, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Duke seems content to control. Smith is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Duke's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Duke's back! Smith is hanging on to Duke's back as he tries to escape.
Duke is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Smith is striking from the back but Duke escapes and manages to recover to half guard. Duke actively working from the bottom here. Smith throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Smith takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Duke is trying to maintain the position but Smith is very close to passing his half guard. Smith missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Smith is looking to take a break and control but Duke is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Smith is taking a breather. Duke says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Smith sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Duke defending well though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Don Smith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Donnie Duke's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Smith is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Duke's half guard. Duke pushes Smith off but Smith dives into side control.
Smith working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Smith tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Smith stands up and beckons Duke to his feet. Duke tries to keep at a distance but Smith has taken the fight into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith decides to pull guard. Smith has his foot on Duke's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Duke works his way back into a safe position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duke is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Smith not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Duke engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Duke stops Smith from standing up. Duke is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Duke wants to pass the guard but Smith is keeping the position. Smith doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Smith in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Smith pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Duke is keeping the position for now. Smith takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Smith trying to control but Duke is working from the bottom. Smith has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Duke to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Smith is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Duke pulls down on the head and he's put Smith to sleep! This one is all over!
