PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dieselnoi Por Pramuk (ranked 1353 p4p, 77 weight class) and Hratch Tzien (ranked 1996 p4p, 107 weight class). Por Pramuk comes to the cage accompanied by Muay Thai Music - Wai Khru Ram Muay. Tzien comes into a darkened arena with his song building. R*ck It kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Por Pramuk tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tzien was well out of range. Poor timing from Por Pramuk.
Tzien slips under a jab.
Por Pramuk misses with a body kick.
Tzien scores with a leg kick.
Por Pramuk scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Por Pramuk throws a sloppy head kick and Tzien moves out of range easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Tzien! But no joy.
A combination from Por Pramuk does no damage.
Por Pramuk cracks Tzien with an open hand slap.

Por Pramuk throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tzien was covering up waiting for the punch and Por Pramuk finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Tzien working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Por Pramuk doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Por Pramuk manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Por Pramuk is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at 3Band MMA ($800/week) that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Por Pramuk drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Tzien manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Por Pramuk has Tzien in his guard.

Tzien got a little sloppy there for a moment and Por Pramuk has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tzien has managed to get both his arms back between Por Pramuk's legs - danger averted.

Por Pramuk looking for a guillotine here but Tzien defends easily.

Tzien jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Por Pramuk manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Por Pramuk is trying to control Tzien's posture but Tzien avoids it.

Tzien thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tzien has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Tzien looking to control but Por Pramuk is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Por Pramuk sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Tzien is thwarting Por Pramuk's attempts to control the position.
Por Pramuk wants to improve his position but Tzien is controlling well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tzien seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Por Pramuk does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Por Pramuk is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tzien pulls his head out easily.

A close round but Hratch Tzien will probably get the nod.

Tzien misses with a body punch.
Tzien gets through Por Pramuk's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Tzien throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Por Pramuks head.

Por Pramuk breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A slow jab from Tzien misses its intended target.

Tzien tries a quick counter leg kick but Por Pramuk is wise to it.
Por Pramuk throws a sloppy head kick and Tzien moves out of range easily.
Dieselnoi Por Pramuk is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Tzien counters with a nice low kick that buckles Por Pramuk's knee momentarily.
Por Pramuk walks into a straight right hand from Tzien.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Por Pramuk shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Tzien is trying to defend but Por Pramuk finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Por Pramuk is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Tzien is looking to control Por Pramuk's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tzien avoid being mounted?
The fighters are battling for position here. Tzien manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Our spies down at at The Wild Beasts Zoo inform us that Tzien has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Por Pramuk content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Tzien has locked up a guillotine! Tzien's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Por Pramuk is holding on here and Tzien must be using up a lot of energy. Por Pramuk has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Tzien gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
