Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chief Shadow (ranked 2807 p4p, 350 weight class) and Dennis Wilson (ranked 4283 p4p, 473 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chief Shadow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dennis Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shadow throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wilson's waist but Wilson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shadow off to one side.
A little jabbing left from Wilson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Wilson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wilson wants it to stay on the feet.

and Wilson counters with a lovely shot to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chief Shadow. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Wilson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shadow looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Shadow is trying to stick to Wilson's back but Wilson is turning into Shadow. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Shadow's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Wilson.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shadow is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Wilson is aware though and is defending well.

Shadow has his foot on Wilson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wilson works his way back into a safe position though.

Wilson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Shadow back to the cage. Wilson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Shadow shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Wilson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Shadow got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wilson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shadow has managed to get both his arms back between Wilson's legs - danger averted.

Chief Shadow overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Shadow lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Wilson connects with a solid leg kick.
Dennis Wilson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shadow takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Wilson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Shadow eats them both and turns towards Wilson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Shadow shoots for a takedown but Wilson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Good leg kick by Wilson there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Wilson thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Shadow if he has to take too many more of those.
Wilson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Wilson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Shadow stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Shadow shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Wilson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Shadow has his foot on Wilson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wilson works his way back into a safe position though.

Wilson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Wilson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Shadow with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shadow is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Wilson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Shadow's head.

Wilson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Shadow doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Wilson.
