Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nikita Kotoski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Punch!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Daniel Cesar and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punch keeps the fight on the outside.
Punch takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Punch looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Nikita Kotoski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kotoski wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Kotoski tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Punch paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Nice sprawl there from Punch as Kotoski shoots in.
Punch fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kotoski.
Kotoski fails to land the takedown.
Punch misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kotoski.
Kotoski tries to clinch up but Punch circles away and keeps his distance.
Horrible takedown by Kotoski or perhaps it was just good defense by Punch which made him look bad.

Punch throws a series of punches but Kotoski avoids them all with ease.
Kotoski walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.


It looks like Nikita Kotoski has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Let's hope that Punch has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Punch really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kotoski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Punch has the hooks in. Kotoski is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Mike Punch is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Punch counters with a nice low kick that buckles Kotoski's knee momentarily.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Punch throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Kotoski is going olschool here, as he tries to force Punch to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Punch shrugs it off.

Kotoski jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Punch is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Punch and Kotoski has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Kotoski is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Punch is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Punch is looking for a sweep. Kotoski is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Punch wants to improve his position but Kotoski is controlling well.

Kotoski is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Punch is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Punch has escaped and now he's on top!

Nikita Kotoski has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Punch is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Punch seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Well Punch has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
