Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pato Loco (ranked 4895 p4p, 450 weight class) and John Kennedy (ranked 3556 p4p, 374 weight class). Kennedy has chosen Shot Through the Heart as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pato Loco! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Kennedy! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Loco gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Kennedy works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Kennedy scores with a shot to the side of Loco's head. A head punch blocked on the inside by Loco. Kennedy lands with a short punch from the clinch.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Loco tries to pull guard but Kennedy holds him up against the cage and eventually Loco drops back down to his feet.

Kennedy lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Loco. Kennedy presses Loco against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Loco definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Kennedy has a couple of punches blocked by Loco.

Loco is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Kennedy can't fight it off and eventually Loco manages to take the fight to the floor. Kennedy looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kennedy looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Loco decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kennedy, up you get! Loco lands a jab to the nose. Kennedy fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Loco, pushing him back against the cage. Kennedy pushes Loco back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Loco lands a hook to the side of the head. Loco is trying to pull guard but Kennedy turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Kennedy misses with some punches.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. A shot in the inside from Kennedy. Kennedy lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Loco lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Kennedy gets through Loco's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Loco tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kennedy just stands there and leans against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Kennedy dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Loco keeps the fight on the outside. Kennedy has taken the fight to the clinch.

Kennedy misses with a short punch on the inside. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Kennedy swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Kennedy swings wildly with an uppercut but Loco uses good head movement to avoid it. Kennedy lands a shoulder strike. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Loco is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kennedy to keep the fight standing. Loco blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Loco tries to break free but Kennedy pushes him back against the cage. Kennedy digs a right hand underneath Loco's ribcage. Loco let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Kennedy lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Loco has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Kennedy misses with a hook from the clinch. Loco jumps into guard, dragging Kennedy to the mat.
Kennedy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Loco. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kennedy stays in close to Loco's body and controls the position. Loco tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kennedy sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kennedy darts in and clinches Loco up against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Kennedy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Loco's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Loco is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Kennedy is defending well. Kennedy swings wildly with an uppercut but Loco uses good head movement to avoid it. Kennedy misses with the head strike.
Loco tries to break the clinch but Kennedy is controlling the position. A quick uppercut on the inside from Kennedy. Loco makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. A short uppercut from Kennedy. Kennedy lands on the inside with an uppercut. Kennedy lands a body shot. Loco is trying to force a seperation but Kennedy has the dominant position. John Kennedy seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Kennedy prevents Loco from breaking the clinch. Loco misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Loco has picked Kennedy up - he's going for a ride! Loco dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Kennedy has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Loco thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Kennedy avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Loco. Kennedy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kennedy regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Loco. Loco looking to pass the guard. John Kennedy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Loco throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Loco with a flurry of punches that miss. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kennedy can do anything to dispel that myth. Loco missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Kennedy working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Loco. Kennedy is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kennedy is continuing to stall. Loco stands and steps away. Kennedy gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Kennedy wants to clinch up but Loco keeps it at a distance. Kennedy works over Loco's head and body with a nice combination. Kennedy pushes Loco up against the cage in a clinch. Loco wants to break the clinch but can't.
Pato Loco has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Loco misses with a punch to the body.
And that's the end of the fight! John Kennedy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Kennedy winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

John Kennedy wins by unanimous decision! In his post fight interview, John Kennedy started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
