Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Reno Rocca (ranked 2490 p4p, 294 weight class) and Rodolfo Viera (ranked 3545 p4p, 375 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Reno Rocca!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rodolfo Viera!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Peter Branson and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Viera looks for a takedown but Rocca sprawls well.
Viera is looking to clinch but Rocca is avoiding it.
Rocca lands a jab.
Rocca throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rocca bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Viera's head backwards.
Rocca lands with an uppercut that bounces Viera off the cage and back into range.
Rocca thuds a left hand into Viera's body.
Viera will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Rocca is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Rocca, as that shot connected.

Rocca has Viera up against the cage in a clinch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Still in the clinch, Rocca scores with a nice short uppercut.

Viera wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rocca has him pressed against the cage.

Rocca lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Viera tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rocca smiles and moves away.
Reno Rocca has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodolfo Viera.

Viera takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Rocca thuds a left hand into Viera's body.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rocca gets caught napping as Viera dives in and scores a takedown. Rocca manages to retain guard.
Rocca lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Rocca moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Rocca bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Viera's head.

Viera bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Viera wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rocca keeps working.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rocca is looking to regain half guard here but Viera keeps moving and retains side control.

Viera is looking to take a break and control but Rocca is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Viera wants to control for a moment but Rocca uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Rocca manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Rocca is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Viera can do to turn this around?

Rocca had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Viera defends it easily.

Viera stands and steps away. Rocca gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rocca throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Viera stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Rocca lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Reno Rocca is winning the standup battle so far.
Rocca stuffs the takedown.
Rocca looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Rocca.
Rocca lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Rocca lands an elbow inside that Viera shrugs off.


It looks like Rodolfo Viera has been cut.
Viera jumps guard but Rocca turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Rocca throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Rocca is working Viera over against the cage.
A left hand lands to the body for Rocca.
Viera is breathing heavily.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Rocca lands with a short shot to the head.
A nice left hand lands by Rocca.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reno Rocca dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Rodolfo Viera's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Rocca thuds his right hand into Viera's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Viera takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Rocca lands a nice looking body kick.
Viera fails in his attempt to clinch.

Rocca lands a nice shot to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rocca throws a sloppy head kick and Viera moves out of range easily.
Viera is still on wobbly legs! Can Rocca finish him?
Rocca closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Viera! Rocca dives in looking to finish! Viera is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Reno Rocca!
A very excited looking Reno Rocca rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
