Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Isreal Wong (ranked 24007 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ahohako Mihakano (ranked 3884 p4p, 0 weight class). Mihakano is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: No Effect. Isreal Wong has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Isreal Wong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ahohako Mihakano! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Ben Hemmingworth and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Mihakano as Wong shoots in. Mihakano takes the fight into the clinch. Mihakano is trying to drag Wong to the mat but Wong just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Mihakano successfully pulls guard.
Wong not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Mihakano preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wong throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Mihakano wants to sweep here but Wong controlling him for the moment. Wong trying to control the position from guard on top but Mihakano is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wong wants to stand and escape but instead Mihakano has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Wong is trying to keep Mihakano in close.
Mihakano keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Wong's head. Mihakano scoring with punches to the head and body. Wong trying to keep a closed guard but Mihakano is proving a slippery customer.
Wong has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mihakano can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Wong keeping full guard, as Mihakano tries to pass. Mihakano must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Mihakano connects with a couple of short punches. Wong could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mihakano stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wong swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wong is trying to keep Mihakano in close.
Mihakano is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Mihakano wants to control from the top but Wong keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mihakano is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Wong working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Mihakano has passed into half guard!
Mihakano landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Mihakano is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mihakano is trying to control. Wong wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Wong has hold of Mihakano's hands but Mihakano slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Wong is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mihakano scores with a couple of nice shots. Wong trying to hold on to Mihakano's head to control him but Mihakano postures up.
Mihakano is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Mihakano working Wong over with strikes. Mihakano seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Wong is looking to control Mihakano's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wong avoid being mounted? Mihakano slips a nice elbow through Wong's hands, connecting with Wong's forehead. Mihakano lands with a punch from half guard. Wong is refusing to be controlled, as Mihakano sits in half guard. Mihakano working the head and body with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wong is positioning himself well to prevent Mihakano advancing to mount. Mihakano is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Wong sees it coming and defends easily. Mihakano is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Wong doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mihakano. Mihakano is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Wong tries to roll over but Mihakano keeps him under control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ahohako Mihakano dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Mihakano shoots in looking for a takedown. Wong tries to sprawl out of it but Mihakano keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wong manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Mihakano gets a double leg takedown into Wong's guard. Mihakano stands up over Wong, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Wong is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Nice move. Mihakano keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Mihakano moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Wong has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mihakano is proving hard to escape from. Wong postures up in Mihakano's guard and throws a big left but Mihakano blocks it.

Ahohako Mihakano showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Wong thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Isreal Wong has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ahohako Mihakano is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Wong throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
