The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson shoots for a double leg takedown but Davis Jr sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Johnson moves out of range as Davis Jr throws a body kick.
Johnson feinted with a counter takedown. Johnson goes for a double leg but Davis Jr avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Davis Jr continues to drive forward. Johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - Davis Jr circles away.
A head kick misses from Davis Jr. Davis Jr changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Davis Jr tries to stand but Johnson is controlling his head. Johnson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Davis Jr connects with a decent elbow. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Johnson is trying to get back to half guard. Davis Jr grinds an elbow into Johnson's temple.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson wants to control but Davis Jr postures up. Davis Jr taking a breather here. Davis Jr thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Davis Jr has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Davis Jr controlling the position from side mount. Johnson tries to bench press Davis Jr off him but Davis Jr keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Davis Jr working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Davis Jr in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Davis Jr landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Johnson bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Johnson avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Davis Jr is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Johnson. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Johnson moves out of range of the body kick from Davis Jr.
Johnson half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Davis Jr throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Johnson. Johnson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Davis Jr to score an easy takedown into full guard. Johnson manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown but Davis Jr manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Johnson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Johnson scores with a punch to the head. A head kick misses from Davis Jr.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson tries to clinch up. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Davis Jr fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Johnson, pushing him back against the ropes. Davis Jr throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Johnson blocks it with crossed arms. Davis Jr breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Johnson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Davis Jr misses with a low kick as Johnson jumps back. Johnson goes for a double leg but Davis Jr avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Davis Jr continues to drive forward. A head kick by Davis Jr misses and Johnson counters with a left and a right that stings Davis Jr. Davis Jr drives through with a takedown into Johnson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Davis Jr is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Davis Jr preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tyron Lee Davis Jr dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Davis Jr closes the distance and pushes Johnson back into the ropes. Johnson with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Johnson has had enough of the clinch but Davis Jr keeps him there for the moment. Davis Jr breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Johnson lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Davis Jr keeps the fight on the outside. Davis Jr flicks out a counter leg kick but Johnson steps away. Johnson fails in his attempt to clinch. Davis Jr defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Johnson. Davis Jr decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Davis Jr has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Davis Jr scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Davis Jr prevents Johnson from improving his position. Davis Jr looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Johnson is trying to control but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Davis Jr wants to pass the guard but Johnson is defending well. Davis Jr tries to stand and escape but Johnson is controlling the position. Davis Jr slips a nice elbow through Johnson's hands, connecting with Johnson's forehead. Davis Jr keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Davis Jr is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Davis Jr with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Davis Jr is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Johnson sees it coming and defends easily. Johnson is refusing to be controlled, as Davis Jr sits in half guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Bob Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tyron Lee Davis Jr is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Davis Jr tries to bum rush Johnson with a series of wild strikes but Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
And that's the end of the fight! Tyron Lee Davis Jr comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Davis Jr has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
