Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rasul Dolaev (ranked 4244 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Arroya Ramirez (ranked 3180 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 1, fighting out of New York, Rasul Dolaev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jose Arroya Ramirez!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Kavanagh and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Dolaev.
Ramirez is looking to clinch but Dolaev is avoiding it.

enabling Ramirez to counter with a crisp jab.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dolaev is defended easily by Ramirez.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ramirez tries to clinch up but Dolaev circles away and keeps his distance.
Dolaev shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ramirez pinned against the cage. Ramirez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ramirez throws out a counter right but Dolaev avoids it with no problem.

Dolaev tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ramirez defends well and Dolaev ends up having to push Ramirez into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Ramirez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Dolaev darts in looking for a takedown but Ramirez gets double underhooks and turns Dolaev into the cage.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ramirez.
Ramirez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Dolaev shoots in for a takedown but Ramirez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Dolaev sets himself, and Ramirez steps forward looking for the clinch! Dolaev avoids it this time.
Dolaev takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Dolaev looks to land a combination but Ramirez avoids it well.

Ramirez manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dolaev is trying to stand back up but Ramirez is controlling him
Dolaev is looking for a sweep. Ramirez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Dolaev is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Ramirez jumps into side control!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ramirez might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Dolaev haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Ramirez displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dolaev throws out the jab.
Ramirez unleashes a big counter combination but Dolaev bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Ramirez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dolaev sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ramirez somewhat.

Ramirez is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Ramirez is looking to take a break and control but Dolaev is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

I would just about give that final round to Jose Arroya Ramirez.
Well Ramirez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
