Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jerry Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, William Wolfe! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Daniel Franklin and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wolfe fails with the takedown and Jones counters by moving into the clinch. Jones tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Wolfe's elbow. Jones throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Jones gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Wolfe looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Jones wants to control from the top but Wolfe keeps moving. Jones has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Wolfe controlling Jones's posture. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Jones postures up and lands a big shot to Wolfe's brow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones controls from within his opponent's guard. Jones distracts Wolfe with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones is stalling in the full guard. Jones throwing strikes from guard but Wolfe blocks nicely. Jones looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Wolfe wants to stand up but Jones is controlling him. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Wolfe working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jones. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

William Wolfe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jones throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jones drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Wolfe is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Jones dives into side control.

Wolfe tries to clinch up. Nice body punch from Jones. Wolfe throws a head kick that misses and Jones counters by clinching up. Wolfe is trying to maintain a safe position but Jones gets an underhook and turns Wolfe into the cage. Jones has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Wolfe after a bit of a struggle. Jones can't get the takedown.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerry Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wolfe wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jones has him pressed against the cage. Wolfe has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jones uses from the top position. Wolfe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Wolfe is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Wolfe is looking to control Jones's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wolfe avoid being mounted? Jones drops an elbow to the side of Wolfe's head. Wolfe taking some punishment here, with Jones in his half guard. Wolfe on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Wolfe is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wolfe wants to get back to full guard. Jones is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Wolfe is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
