Coming up we have a welterweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Khalid Mamedov (ranked 1696 p4p, 224 weight class) and Vulcahn Dravezesdi (ranked 1774 p4p, 233 weight class). Mamedov's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Shamhan Daldaev - Eto Kavkaz. Dravezesdi has chosen Nobody's Fool as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Vulcahn Dravezesdi enters the ring!

In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 0 losses; Khalid Mamedov! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 14 wins and 6 losses; Vulcahn Dravezesdi!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Dravezesdi shoots for a takedown but Mamedov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Dravezesdi has a takedown stuffed.
Mamedov changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Dravezesdi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mamedov is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Dravezesdi.
Khalid Mamedov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vulcahn Dravezesdi.

and Mamedov counters by clinching up.

Mamedov ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mamedov no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Mamedov manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dravezesdi manages to get himself to full guard.

Dravezesdi felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
