The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hopkins connects with a right hand. Khun shakes it off.
Khun lands with a straight right. Hopkins didn't see that one coming.
Khun throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Hopkins stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Khun.
Khun throws out a loose jab but Hopkins uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hopkins swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Hopkins throws a sloppy body shot
and Khun connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Khun cracks Hopkins with an open hand slap.
A big right from Khun misses.
Hopkins slips a straight right by Khun.

A looping hook to the body misses from Khun. Hopkins does a little dance to reset his feet.
Khun swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hopkins is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Khun throws a jab when Hopkins was well out of range.
An attempted straight right counter from Hopkins misses the target.
Khun throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Hopkins counters with a stiff right hand.
Khun lands a really nice looking cross but Hopkins seems unphased.
Khun throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Hopkins looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Khun misses with an uppercut.
Hopkins was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Khun lands a glancing blow to the side of Hopkins's head.
The crowd cheers as Khun lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hopkins doesn't seem phased though.
Hopkins moves away from the strike by Khun.
Khun misses the jab.
Hopkins is looking to counter punch.
Khun throws an overhand right that lands on Hopkins's shoulder, as Hopkins tries to avoid the shot.
Hopkins was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Good exchange - Khun coming out on top.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Hopkins connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like Gok Won Khun has been cut.
Hopkins takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Khun tries to land a front kick but Hopkins steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Hopkins swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Khun. Hopkins shrugs it off though.
Khun lands a high kick!
Hopkins displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Khun throws out the jab.
A little feinted left hand from Hopkins on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Khun works the jab nicely.
Khun is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Hopkins had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Khun is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hopkins.
A jab from Khun finds it's way through Hopkins's defenses.

Hopkins drops Khun with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Khun looks back up at him and smiles so Hopkins waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hopkins lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Khun - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Hopkins!

After the fight, Giuseppe Hopkins was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
