0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Jacques Rideau! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rodrigues closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Rideau tries to break free but Rodrigues pushes him back against the cage. Rodrigues tries to pull guard but Rideau won't allow it.
Rodrigues misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Rideau wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Rideau tries to circle away but Rodrigues has him pinned against the cage. Rodrigues is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Rideau to keep the fight standing. Rodrigues manages to pull guard.
Rodrigues looking for a guillotine here but Rideau defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rodrigues had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rideau defends it easily. Rodrigues has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Rideau should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Rodrigues has tightened it up now! Rideau should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Samuel Rodrigues! Samuel Rodrigues tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
