Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Davids (ranked 24417 p4p, 556 weight class) and David Danis (ranked 6601 p4p, 512 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dennis Davids! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Danis! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davids tries for a takedown but Danis circles away easily and Danis counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Davids wants to take the fight to the mat but Danis manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Danis pulls Davids into guard.
Davids would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Danis is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Davids is looking for a sweep. Danis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Danis wants to take a breather but Davids is having none of it. Davids avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Danis. Danis wants to take a breather but Davids is having none of it. That's one minute gone in the round. Davids is trying to control but Danis manages to pass to mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Danis is in the full mount, landing strikes. Davids holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Danis tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Danis is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Davids has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Davids! Davids trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Davids with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Danis controls Davids momentarily but Davids frees himself. Davids controlling from the top position. Danis looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Davids seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Danis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Davids defends well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Danis is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Davids postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Danis being controlled here, momentarily. Davids throws a big right hand that misses. Davids postures up.
Davids has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Davids content to stall in guard here. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Davids decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Danis tries to clinch but Davids moves out of range. Davids scores to the head and body with a nice combination! A good leg kick by Davids. Davids darts in and clinches Danis up against the cage. Davids connects with a nasty looking knee right to Danis's face.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Davids is adopting a defensive guard. Davids throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Dennis Davids dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Davids changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Danis tries to avoid it but Davids manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Danis to the ground. Danis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Danis dives in for a single leg takedown but Davids sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Danis fails to land the takedown. Davids changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Danis throws a sloppy head kick and Davids moves out of range easily. Davids was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Davids fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Danis to the ground. Davids is now in Danis's guard. Davids showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Davids pushes down on Danis's leg and manages to get into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Davids will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Danis wants to control but Davids is keeping busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Danis gets full guard. Davids trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Danis has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Davids is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Davids goes for a takedown attempt but Danis pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Danis shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Davids's guard. Davids has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Danis has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Danis ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Danis no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Davids slips nicely into half guard. Davids escapes and gets back to his feet. Davids shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Danis defends it nicely. Davids sets himself, and Danis steps forward looking for the clinch! Davids avoids it this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dennis Davids. That's going to take a lot out of him. Danis misses with a takedown attempt - Davids sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Davids attempts a counter takedown but Danis avoids it well and moves away. Danis is trying hard to land a takedown here. Davids sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Danis tries to clinch and Davids counters with a head kick. That will keep Danis thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Davids shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Danis's guard. Danis is breathing heavily. Danis working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Davids.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Danis working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Davids has passed into half guard!
Davids wants to work for an arm triangle but Danis is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Davids decides to stand and escape the position. Danis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Danis tries to bum rush Davids with a series of wild strikes but Davids uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Davids is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Danis can do to turn this around? Davids changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Danis tries to avoid it but Davids manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Danis to the ground. Danis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Davids cracks Danis with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Danis advances position into side control! Davids manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Davids prevents Danis from improving his position. Davids takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Danis wants to get back to his feet.

Davids seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Danis for as long as he can get away with.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Davids fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Danis sprawls well initially but Davids persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Danis tries to get to full guard but Davids has control of the leg. Dennis Davids overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Danis is looking to control Davids's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Danis avoid being mounted? Danis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Davids postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Danis to stand up. Dennis Davids is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Dennis Davids is winning the standup battle so far. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Danis takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. David Danis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! A jab from Danis finds it's way through Davids's defenses.
And that's the end of the fight! Dennis Davids showed his dominance in that final round. Well Davids has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
