Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tud Stoddler (ranked 25 p4p, 4 weight class) and Ernest Graves (ranked 300 p4p, 39 weight class). Stoddler's entrance music is Arcade Fire - Ready to Start. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tud Stoddler! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ernest Graves! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Graves closes the distance and clinches up with Stoddler, looking for a takedown. Graves pushes Stoddler against the cage but Stoddler circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Stoddler throws a counter high kick but Graves was just alert enough to avoid it. Graves fails with the takedown and Stoddler cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Graves misses with a takedown and Stoddler counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Ernest Graves has been cut. Tud Stoddler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ernest Graves. Stoddler looks to land a right hand but Graves moved out of range. Graves shoots in looking for a takedown. Stoddler tries to sprawl out of it but Graves keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stoddler manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Stoddler throws a jab but it's blocked by Graves. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Graves keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Stoddler. Graves misses with a takedown attempt and Stoddler counters with a crisp one two that drops Graves! Stoddler thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Graves to his feet! Graves is in big trouble!
Graves is rocked! Graves scores with a takedown into Stoddler's guard. Graves is still in real trouble! Can Stoddler finish him? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Stoddler looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Graves seems to have recovered his senses. Graves postures up.
Graves trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Graves passes Stoddler's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Graves thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Stoddler's head. Stoddler is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at The Jungle Room, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Graves wants to free his trapped foot but Stoddler is holding on for dear life with his legs. Graves is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Stoddler controlling the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Graves wants to pass the guard but Stoddler is defending well. Stoddler is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Stoddler is pressing down on Graves's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Stoddler trying to keep a closed guard but Graves is proving a slippery customer.
Graves tries to free his leg and advance position but Stoddler is retaining full guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Graves pushes Stoddler up against the cage in a clinch. Graves has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Stoddler avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. A right handed body shot lands from Stoddler.
Graves wants a takedown.
Stoddler makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Stoddler misses with a body punch.
Stoddler tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Stoddler lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Stoddler tries a body shot but Graves blocks it.
A short body shot lands from Graves as the two fighters clinch.
Graves is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Stoddler is defending well. Graves tries for a takedown but Stoddler manages to get underhooks.
Stoddler fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Stoddler lands with a light punch inside. Stoddler doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Graves misses with a body punch.
Stoddler scores with an uppercut up the middle. Stoddler prevents the takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stoddler tries to break free but Graves pushes him back against the cage. Stoddler is pressed up against the cage. Graves has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Stoddler down to the mat. Stoddler avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Graves shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stoddler as he jumps to the side. Stoddler swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Nice defenses there by Graves. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Graves shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stoddler as he avoids it easily. Graves looks for a takedown but Stoddler sprawls well. Stoddler lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Graves circles away quickly and effectively. Graves shoots in but Stoddler avoids the takedown attempt easily. Stoddler cracks Graves with a good jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tud Stoddler dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ernest Graves's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Stoddler leaves Graves with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Graves. Stoddler throwing a counter right hand but Graves manages to avoid it. A swing and a miss from Stoddler. Stoddler misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Graves.
Graves shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stoddler pinned against the cage. Stoddler gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Tud Stoddler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ernest Graves. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Graves ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Graves tries for a takedown but Stoddler circles away easily and Stoddler counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Graves fails with the takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stoddler with a hook. Graves will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Graves looks up at the clock. Bad move! Stoddler lands a right hand from hell, dropping Graves. Stoddler pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tud Stoddler! Tud Stoddler retains his lightweight title! Tud Stoddler bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
