Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Kidd (ranked 3867 p4p, 425 weight class) and Conor OShea (ranked 1920 p4p, 244 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyson Kidd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Conor OShea! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! OShea fails with the takedown and Kidd counters with a straight right hand. Conor OShea seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. OShea gets the takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kidd tries to get back to half guard but can't. OShea looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. OShea throws a strike aimed at the side of Kidd's head but Kidd avoids it well. Kidd tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but OShea wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. OShea is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kidd has escaped the position, nice work there. Kidd gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kidd misses with an uppercut. OShea saw that one coming. Conor OShea is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. OShea tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kidd manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. OShea uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kidd.
OShea lands an overhand right. Kidd displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from OShea. OShea shoots and misses letting Kidd counter with a right hand. Kidd throws a nice outside leg kick. OShea darts in looking for a takedown but Kidd gets double underhooks and turns OShea into the cage. An attempted straight right counter from Kidd misses the target. Tyson Kidd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Conor OShea. Kidd avoids the head kick by OShea.
Kidd thumps OShea with a low kick. OShea fails miserably with a takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. OShea is looking to clinch. Kidd swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Kidd connects with a good right hand that stumbles OShea. OShea circles away out of range and recomposes himself. The crowd cheers as Kidd lands an impressive looking overhand right. OShea doesn't seem phased though. OShea swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Kidd throws a looping overhand right but OShea ducks down to avoid it. Kidd throws an overhand right that lands on OShea's shoulder, as OShea tries to avoid the shot. Kidd jabbing away but nothing is landing. OShea shoots in looking for a takedown. Kidd tries to sprawl out of it but OShea keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kidd manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. An attempted straight right counter from Kidd misses the target. OShea keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A head kick misses from OShea. Kidd looks to land a left hand but OShea moved out of range nicely. Good standup being displayed there by Kidd as he connects with a hook. Tyson Kidd is winning the standup battle so far. Kidd misses with a looping right. Kidd ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. OShea shoots in for a takedown but Kidd shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. A combination from OShea does no damage. Kidd gets caught flat footed, as OShea shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kidd had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. OShea defends it easily. Kidd is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. OShea must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kidd is looking for a triangle here but OShea uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
