PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buck Rogers (ranked 4693 p4p, 500 weight class) and Joe Sixpack (ranked 24310 p4p, 597 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Buck Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Sixpack!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sixpack ducks right into an uppercut from Rogers.
Sixpack shoots in for a takedown but Rogers shows good takedown defense.
Rogers fails to land with a series of punches.
Despite the aggression on Sixpack's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Sixpack takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Sixpack tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Rogers defends well and Sixpack ends up having to push Rogers into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Joe Sixpack seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rogers lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Sixpack shoots in for a takedown but Rogers shows good takedown defense.
Buck Rogers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Sixpack.
Sixpack tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rogers was well out of range. Poor timing from Sixpack.

Horrible takedown attempt by Sixpack or perhaps it was just good defense by Rogers, which made it look bad.
Rogers swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Sixpack fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Rogers tries to throw a body punch but Sixpack avoids it by throwing Rogers back against the cage.

Rogers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rogers thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sixpack's head.

Rogers is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Roosters Coop that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sixpack can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rogers is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sixpack throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Buck Rogers dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Sixpack has his takedown stuffed
and Rogers counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sixpack tries to close the distance and clinch but Rogers swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sixpack shoots for a takedown but Rogers saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Some bone on bone action there as Rogers checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Sixpack clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sixpack tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rogers smiles and moves away.

Joe Sixpack is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Rogers counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rogers throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Sixpack crashing down! Sixpack tries to stagger back to his feet but Rogers just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Sixpack asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Buck Rogers!
Buck Rogers decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
