PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Javier Pinales (ranked 1042 p4p, 142 weight class) and John Bessant (ranked 1588 p4p, 205 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

It looks like Javier Pinales has been cut.
Pinales dives in and grabs Bessant's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bessant pushes down on Pinales's head and hops out.
Pinales fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bessant avoids it really well and circles away.
Bessant connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Pinales's hands.

Pinales misses with a takedown attempt - Bessant sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pinales shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bessant pinned against the cage. Bessant gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Bessant might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Pinales shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Pinales might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Pinales drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Pinales as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Bessant screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Pinales! Nice submission victory there!
