Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pate Mfer (ranked 1888 p4p, 242 weight class) and Joe Monroe (ranked 2399 p4p, 293 weight class). Joe Monroe is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Pate Mfer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Monroe ! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mfer throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Mfer looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. A jab from Mfer misses. A little jabbing left from Monroe on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Mfer connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Monroe 's hands. Monroe forces Mfer back against the cage and clinches. Mfer softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Mfer breaks from the clinch.
Monroe jabbing away but nothing is landing. Monroe wants to clinch. Monroe tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mfer swats him away and circles back towards the center. Monroe tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. An attempted straight right counter from Mfer misses the target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mfer lands with a hook. Monroe tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Monroe on the wrong end of a nice hook. Monroe tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mfer paws at him with a jab and circles away. Monroe tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Mfer was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Mfer checks the leg kick. Monroe clinches with his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mfer lands a hook to the side of the head. Monroe misses with a hook to the ribs.
Monroe is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Monroe misses with the head strike.
The referee calls for Mfer to work.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Mfer creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Mfer working some nice short punches in the clinch. Mfer lands with a short shot to the head. Mfer lands a shoulder strike. Mfer blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Mfer is leaning against Monroe and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Monroe trying to stall but Mfer improves his position.
Monroe misses with some punches.
A nice right hand lands inside from Mfer. Monroe trying to land knees to the body.
Mfer slows down the pace here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Monroe is struggling to control the position. The crowd are getting on Monroe 's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch. The referee calls for Monroe to work.
Monroe continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Monroe is trying to stall.
Mfer lands a shoulder strike. A right hook to the body lands for Mfer.
Nice body punch from Mfer. Monroe looks winded! A short right from Mfer. A short right from Mfer. Mfer avoiding damage as Monroe throws knees to the body.
A short right from Monroe on the inside. Mfer works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Still in the clinch, Mfer scores with a nice short uppercut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mfer pushes Monroe back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Mfer lands a left hand.
Mfer lands a right hand. Mfer lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Mfer lands a shoulder strike. Monroe looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Monroe struggles to land a body shot inside as Mfer controls his hands.
A short body shot lands from Mfer as the two fighters clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Mfer creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Mfer presses Monroe against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Mfer gets through Monroe 's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Mfer lands a right hand. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mfer lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Monroe is rocked! Monroe 's coach down at Touch Of Death Combat Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Monroe 's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Mfer dips a shoulder and cracks Monroe with a mighty uppercut! Monroe falls back against the cage and Mfer unloads with a barrage of strikes! Monroe is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Mfer screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pate Mfer!
