PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Lewis (ranked 2192 p4p, 268 weight class) and Alexander Macedon (ranked 4028 p4p, 439 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lewis might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to DMX - Slippin. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Macedon looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Lewis pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Lewis getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Lewis throws a nice looking combination but Macedon bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Macedon changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Lewis is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Macedon.

Lewis lands a big shot that drops Macedon! Can he finish him?

Macedon is rocked!

It looks like Alexander Macedon has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Macedon has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lewis is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Macedon.
Macedon is still in real trouble! Can Lewis finish him?
Macedon looking for a sweep but Lewis has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Macedon is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Lewis lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Lewis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Macedon is wriggling around trying to escape.
Lewis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Lewis seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Macedon for as long as he can get away with.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lewis continues to stall.
More hug and hope from Lewis.
Macedon seems to have recovered his senses.
Macedon is trying to escape the mount.

Macedon is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Macedon looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Lewis is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Lewis looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Lewis wants to pass the guard but Macedon is defending well.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Lewis perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Macedon is looking to improve his position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Macedon is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lewis pulls his head out easily.
Lewis is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Lewis throws out a loose jab but Macedon uses good head movement to avoid it.
Macedon drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Lewis defends it well.
A left lands for Lewis.
Nice straight punches there by Lewis. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Lewis.
Lewis steps in with a hook that catches Macedon right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Lewis follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Macedon looks absolutely devastated.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kyle Lewis!
