Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Minoshi Kawajari!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawajari misses with a wild combination.

Kawajari closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kawajari lands in his opponent's guard.
Kawajari advances position into side control!

Kawajari working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Kawajari looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Wells is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Kawajari seems to be looking for submissions.
Kawajari moves nicely into side control.

Kawajari thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kawajari cracks Wells with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Wells tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kawajari wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Kawajari is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wells is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Kawajari swings around for an armbar but Wells sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kawajari's guard.
Kawajari looks gassed!

Kawajari looking for a guillotine here but Wells defends easily.
Wells has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Wells scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Wells distracts Kawajari with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Kawajari working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Wells has passed into half guard!
Kawajari wants to sweep but Wells has passed to side control!
Kawajari is trying to improve his position.
Kawajari defending against the ground and pound.
Wells lands a few punches from side control.
Kawajari manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Kawajari is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Wells!
Wells tries to reverse the position but Kawajari maintains control.

Wells is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Wells tries to lock up and control but Kawajari gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Kawajari sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Wells tries to reverse the position but Kawajari maintains control.

Kawajari working for a submission but Wells is keeping him at bay.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kawajari is going olschool here, as he tries to force Wells to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Wells shrugs it off.
Wells can't escape the position.
Kawajari working away from the top, dropping strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Minoshi Kawajari dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Kawajari sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Kawajari looking for submissions off his back.
Kawajari gets back to full guard.
Wells wants to control from the top but Kawajari keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kawajari wants to sweep here but Wells controlling him for the moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kawajari is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Wells has his hands clasped together but Kawajari extends an breaks Wells's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Kawajari.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Minoshi Kawajari!
