Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Diaz (ranked 4943 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lolo Lord (ranked 4836 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lolo Lord! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Roger Salmon and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lord tries to clinch but Diaz moves out of range. Lord shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Diaz defends it nicely. Lord shoots and misses and Diaz cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Diaz lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Lord takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Diaz thuds his right hand into Lord's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Lord looks to land a left hand but Diaz moved out of range nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diaz looks to land a combination but Lord avoids it well. Diaz lands a jab-cross combination. This has been an exciting period of action! Lord takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Diaz is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Diaz throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Lord takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Diaz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lord.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lord is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Diaz. Diaz digs a good hook to Lord's body.

Diaz was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Diaz throws a right hand that Lord ducks under and follows up with a left that Lord also avoids with ease. Diaz keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Diaz takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Diaz works over Lord's head and body with a nice combination. Diaz is working the combinations to good effect here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lord darts in trying to clinch enabling Diaz to counter with a crisp jab. Lord with a lazy takedown attempt letting Diaz counter with a right hand. Diaz changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Diaz fails to land with a series of punches.
Lord wants to counter with a clinch but Diaz pushes him away. Horrible takedown attempt by Lord or perhaps it was just good defense by Diaz, which made it look bad. As Lord looks to move away, Diaz throws a big counter combo but Lord just gets out of the way. Lord dodges the punch combination from Diaz.
Diaz is breathing heavily. Diaz scores with a nice right hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diaz darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Lord tries to clinch up but Diaz circles away and keeps his distance. Lord takes one to the side of the head.
Lord wants to clinch and Diaz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Diaz lands a nice hook to Lord's body. Lord takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Lord misses with a kick to the body and Diaz counters with a nice uppercut. Lord fails with a takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lord scores with a head kick. Diaz tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Lolo Lord seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck with that takedown attempt from Lord. Diaz appears to be looking for a big counter. Diaz throws a right hand that Lord ducks under and follows up with a left that Lord also avoids with ease. Diaz is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lord shoots in looking for a takedown but Diaz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lord's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Daniel Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lolo Lord. A left lands for Diaz. Diaz lands a jab. Lord is trying desperately to land a takedown but Diaz is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Lord. Lord misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Diaz cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Diaz throws a series of strikes that have Lord backpedaling.

Lord takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Lord shoots for a takedown but Diaz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Diaz appears to be looking for a big counter. Lord has managed to clinch.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Diaz creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Diaz lands a hook that snaps the head of Lord backwards. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lord takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Diaz lands a nice shot that snaps Lord's head back.

Diaz feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Lords jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Diaz throws a series of strikes that have Lord backpedaling.

Lord had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Lord wants to clinch. Diaz throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
