Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Billy Marques (ranked 2482 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimbo Kern (ranked 24458 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Marques might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Raining Blood. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Billy Marques! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimbo Kern! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kern walks into a stiff left hand from Marques.
It looks like Jimbo Kern has been cut. Billy Marques seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kern gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Kern with a lazy takedown attempt and Marques connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Marques lands with a nice body punch. Marques connects with a looping right hand.
Marques smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. A shot to the liver by Marques. Beautiful body shot. Marques fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kern, pushing him back against the cage. Marques lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kern working aggressively here.

Marques scores with a hook to the body. I was talking to Marques's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Kern looks winded!
That's one minute gone in the round. Marques stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Marques lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Kern backwards. A short body shot lands from Marques as the two fighters clinch.

Marques lands an uppercut. Marques cracks Kern with a nice body shot. A short right hand to the side of the head by Marques. Marques lands with a left to the head. Marques is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Marques works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marques lands with a left to the head. Marques has hold of one of Kern's legs. Kern is fighting the takedown attempt but Marques gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Marques postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Marques is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Marques showing good wrestling skills to control the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kern can do anything to dispel that myth. Marques passes easily into side control. Nice work. Marques scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kern to see if he's OK. Marques cracks Kern with a big right hand but Kern just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marques tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Marques has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Kern really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marques. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Marques prevents Kern from escaping the position. Marques works to advance to full mount. Kern defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Marques controlling the pace for now. Marques seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kern for as long as he can get away with. Marques has control of Kern's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kern regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Kern felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Marques scoring with strikes but Kern is staying in there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Marques content just to control the position here. Marques wants to finish this one by submission but Kern is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Marques. Marques controlling his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Billy Marques dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jimbo Kern's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Kern takes one to the side of the head.
Marques connects with a solid leg kick. Marques walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Marques throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. A punch lands to the side of Kern 's head but he takes it in his stride. Jimbo Kern is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Decent striking displayed by Marques there. Kern fails with the takedown and Marques counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Marques goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Marques lands with a straight right. Kern didn't see that one coming.
Kern is rocked! Marques scores with a jab. Kern is still on wobbly legs! Can Marques finish him?
That's one minute gone in the round. Kern is aggressively charging in as Marques backs up avoiding any damage. Marques tosses out a jab and Kern runs right into it face first! Kern is out cold! Marques dropped down on all fours and is barking in Kern's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
