17 - 10 - 1, fighting out of London, Travis Mitchell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake The Dog! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Dog misses with a right hand and Mitchell counters with a straight right hand. The Dog misses with a looping right. Mitchell throws an off balance right hand
and The Dog connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Donk. The Dog catches Mitchell right on the button with a cross. Mitchell pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. The Dog uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mitchell.
The Dog misses the body punch and Mitchell counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. The Dog throws a hook but Mitchell blocks it. The Dog throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and The Dog counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by The Dog. The Dog tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Mitchell's elbow. The Dog takes a shot to the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The Dog stalling.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Mitchell creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Mitchell lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of The Dog backwards. Mitchell scores with a shoulder strike. Mitchell tries to throw a body punch but The Dog avoids it by throwing Mitchell back against the cage. Mitchell working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
It looks like Jake The Dog has been cut. Mitchell taking a breather. Nice body punch from Mitchell. The Dog breaks the clinch.
Mitchell tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. The fighters circling - The Dog throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Mitchell ducks down and throws a hook to the body. The Dog has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. The Dog misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mitchell.

It looks like Travis Mitchell has been cut. Mitchell gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Both fighters working to control the clinch. Mitchell throws a punch but it's blocked by The Dog. The Dog scores with an uppercut up the middle.

The Dog escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mitchell changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. The Dog misses the shot to the body. As The Dog tries to get set, Mitchell tries to push him back and clinch up but The Dog manages to avoid the attempt. The Dog scores with a jab to the jaw. The Dog misses with a looping right. Mitchell bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Mitchell staying out of range there. The Dog slaps away a takedown attempt from Mitchell, before circling back to the center of the mat. And an attempted straight right on the counter from The Dog! But no joy. Mitchell bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of The Dog's head. The Dog connects with a nice looking jab.
Mitchell swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by The Dog. Jake The Dog is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The Dog throws an overhand right that lands on Mitchell's shoulder, as Mitchell tries to avoid the shot. Mitchell drives through and clinches with The Dog against the cage.
Mitchell has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Both guys are working to get underhooks. The Dog misses with a body punch.
Mitchell lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. The Dog goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Mitchell lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of The Dog backwards. The Dog doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
I was talking to Mitchell's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. The Dog struggles to land a body shot inside as Mitchell controls his hands.
Mitchell has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. The Dog avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. The Dog cracks Mitchell with a nice body shot. An uppercut to the body lands inside from The Dog. Mitchell misses with a body punch.
Mitchell doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Mitchell tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. The Dog escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Good exchange - The Dog coming out on top. Mitchell throws a body kick that misses and Mitchell takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. The Dog misses with a hook. Mitchell ducked under it nicely. The Dog moves out of range of the body kick. Ouch! a nice leg kick from The Dog, right into the meat.
Jake The Dog seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The Dog misses with an uppercut
and Mitchell counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A head kick misses from Mitchell. The Dog walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Mitchell checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Mitchell misses with a left hand and The Dog counters with a stiff right hand. The Dog swings for the body but Mitchell moves out of range.
Mitchell slips under a jab. Mitchell seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Mitchell throws a lazy head kick letting The Dog counter with a right hand. The Dog scores with a punch to the head.
Travis Mitchell's cut is getting worse. A cross from The Dog lands. The Dog scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Mitchell keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from The Dog. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. The Dog scores with a body shot.
Mitchell on the wrong end of a nice hook. Mitchell slips a straight right by The Dog. The Dog misses with an uppercut. Mitchell drops down looking for a counter takedown but The Dog sprawls and moves away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake The Dog dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
The Dog lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The Dog throws a hook to the side of Mitchell's head but Mitchell sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. An attempted straight right counter from Mitchell misses the target. The Dog swings for the body but Mitchell moves out of range.
As The Dog tries to get set, Mitchell tries to push him back and clinch up but The Dog manages to avoid the attempt. A jab from The Dog misses. The Dog throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mitchell looks like he's thinking about clinching though. And an attempted straight right on the counter from The Dog! But no joy. Mitchell throws a body punch but The Dog moves out of range. Mitchell works The Dog's body with a nice hook. The Dog connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Mitchell connects with a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A jab from The Dog finds it's way through Mitchell's defenses. The Dog lands with a right hand. A punch lands to the side of The Dog 's head but he takes it in his stride. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The Dog pushing out the jab but it's not landing. The Dog misses with a right hand and Mitchell counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Dog throws a body shot but no joy. Mitchell tries to score a power double leg takedown but The Dog sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mitchell somewhat. The Dog throws a shot from downtown. Mitchell moves away and avoids it. Mitchell fails with the takedown. Mitchell keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
The Dog ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. And an attempted straight right on the counter from The Dog! But no joy. The Dog lands a slapping body shot.
The Dog uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mitchell. The Dog scoring well with a low kick there.

Mitchell has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but The Dog regains guard immediately. Mitchell with a flurry of punches that miss. Mitchell keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of The Dog's head. Mitchell working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Mitchell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mitchell missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Mitchell trying to control the position from guard on top but The Dog is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The Dog trying to control the position.
Mitchell throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as The Dog works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The Dog has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mitchell landing with the ground and pound. The Dog is trying to control the position but Mitchell postures up. Mitchell not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Mitchell throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The Dog has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Mitchell has passed into side control.
Mitchell lands some shots froms side control. Mitchell wants to lay and pray for a moment but The Dog keeps working. Mitchell working the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The Dog is looking to regain half guard here but Mitchell keeps moving and retains side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mitchell tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. The Dog managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Mitchell.

The Dog is rocked! Mitchell working the head with strikes. The Dog is still in real trouble! Can Mitchell finish him? The Dog takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Mitchell scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh The Dog is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Mitchell can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
